Block 55 the linoleum; few times in farm live to replace the kitchen linoleum was a big discussion on its colors. Granny wanted brown or beige, Mama wanted blue, but Daddy wanted red; they all got wanted they wanted and everyone wore smiles as they came into the kitchen every morning..

Terrific blocks ladies! I will post mine later today...

Quilting Nonnie 02-09-2011 07:20 AM

I agree. Your blocks are wonderful! I love the linoleum "story". I tried to make my linoleum block look like old-fashioned linoleum too! I have to re-do my maple leaf. Not enough contrast. I'll post later today. It was great to see everyone's blocks...you guys are so talented!

Well, I have switched fabric lines for the next half of our blocks. I had decided to make two lap quilts, rather than one large one. This is Cherish Nature by Moda, with additional fabrics from my stash.

deranged_damsel 02-10-2011 01:21 PM

JeanieG

NICE! I like this color combo as well as the other :D

AND... your maple leaf looks like the twin sister of my maple leaf, so of course Im loving it :D :D :D

I finished re-making my maple leaf; in my previous version the background was the same medium as the leaf and they just blended together. So now I can post both my blocks.

I've loved looking at everyone's blocks. I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried. They're all unique and appealing!

grannyQ I love the purple background on your maple leaf!

QuiltingNinaSue Your linoleum block is fantastic: so bright and cheery! Very pretty colors in your maple leaf—looks like Fall!

VioletsFarm: I love you linoleum, what a great combination of prints and yet they don't conflict with each other. I'd love to have a whole quilt of that block!

RWquilts Your blues in the linoleum are beautiful…I'd love to have that in my kitchen! I like your fabric in your maple leaf. Those little pink puff ball flowers are sweet. Are they supposed to be hydrangeas?

JanRN: Your blocks are wonderful. So sorry about your tendinitis. Have been through the not being able to type thing. I held onto a felt tip and pushed the keys with it! Very slow… I love the reds in your linoleum, especially the background.

Auntjo: That linoleum is absolutely adorable. I love the spools and notions—what cure fabric. I recognize your maple leaf green—I have the same fabric!

DerangedDamsel: what a neat maple leaf—I like it! Your linoleum is very pretty, I love the gold.

Weezie: Cool linoleum. Reminds me of some sort of vacation house! Pretty soft colors on your maple leaf.

JeanieG: Love your new colors. That linoleum block is soooo pretty! The maple leaf is very cool and shady!

Evie 02-10-2011 02:10 PM

JeanieG, I'm going to miss your Christmas fabrics! :)

Thank you for the kind comments on my blocks!

Beautiful blocks everyone!! Jeannie I also will miss your Christmas blocks but love what you've done with these.
How do you all get your seams to match up so perfectly? Is everyone paperpiecing? They're gorgeous.
(Typing with a pencil-this isn't fun!!!)

welcome back Anne. Beautiful blocks-love what you did with Maple Leaf.
I finally figured out why I disliked Linoleum. Growing up it was always my job on Saturdays (mom worked) to "wipe up the linoleum". I guess I was having flash-backs to our old kitchen floor LOL.

Honchey 02-19-2011 03:32 PM

Thanks, JanRN--- The floors weren't too bad to do--I hated doing the woodwork on my hands and knees!! I'm going to try to get 57 & 58 done this weekend. Everyone's blocks look soooo good. Can you imagine being in a room with all the quilts from these blocks?
