They both look great, Anne! The picture of mine is kinda dark; the navy blue on the snowball looks black, but here they are:

Honchey 05-10-2011 08:20 PM

Hi Weezie, I love your spider legs. The color combo is my favorite. I made my snowball a looooong time ago -I was into the civil war repo phase then with some of the blocks. Now I'm into whatever pops out at me when digging into the totes. This is really going to be a scrappy quilt.

BETTY62 05-10-2011 09:45 PM

Your blocks are beautiful. Love the color combinations.

Loved the snowball; made two. Spider legs is a lot like the wood lily, takes a little more time to do.

Busy time of the year with garden work kicking into high gear...time to sinish the planting and set out the tomatoes, put straw into the strawberry bed, fence out the berry patch, etc., Love the quilt blocks.

My scappy quilt is looking good.

I love what everyone's done so far! You guys are great!

I thought snowball was a really nice change of pace from some of the more intricate blocks and spider's legs wasn't too bad either...

Honchey 05-11-2011 05:15 AM

Pretty blocks rw. Yes, these weren'tbad at all...82 a little more time consuming.

Great Blocks Everyone! We are traveling to visit friends, so have not got my blocks done as yet. I'll probably be behind for the next few weeks.

Love everyone's work. You all thought 82 was easy? Hmmm...

Here's my blocks 81 & 82

Honchey 05-12-2011 05:26 PM

I've been doing the pping without really paying attention to the way the seams lay...big mistake. I now make sure that they lay so that they butt up against each other.. and that means on some sections I had to reverse the order in which the fabric is sewn. I would have thought that the EQ patterns would have figured that out with all the blocks. not so.... Anyway, just thought I would mention it. Anne

Beautiful blocks everyone, I have nothing to show for this week, it has been kind of crazy here and today I bought a new sewing machine so now I have to figure out how to use it lol!
Hope to get to my blocks by the weekend (here's hoping anyway)

violetsfarm 05-16-2011 06:52 AM

Evie - You have beautiful blocks, nice job.

Very nice blocks Mirabelle-I esp like the blue star fabric.

mirabelle 05-20-2011 04:50 AM

Thank you JanRN, I am starting to struggle with fabric choices from my Civil War prints
I hope to start putting some rows together next week, wish me luck

violetsfarm 05-23-2011 09:01 AM

Mirabelle, you have really made some pretty blocks.

Hi Mirabelle, I hear you about the fabrics. I've been digging real deep in the piles..I really don't want to use the same fabric more than a couple of times... by the way your blocks are lovely. Anne

mirabelle 05-23-2011 10:24 PM

Thank you Anne and Violet for your kind words and encourangement throughout this process. I thought I was stepping outside my comfort zone when I chose to use Civil War Reproduction prints, I just didn't realise how far that step was going to be
I normally use brights, pinks and purples and lots of florals.
I must admit I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey with everyone and will look forward to another challenge when this is all over

I'd made the Spider Legs back in June ... if I'd made them now, I'm sure this block would have been black and orange'ish, to suit the season!! I like the block, even if it's not seasonal! Thanks for looking!!

Yellow and blue, my favorite combo! Pretty, pretty on both of these.

Hi

Here's my two blocks. I pp'd Spider Legs, so it was pretty easy and I love the way it came out. It's a very striking block! And thank goodness for Snowball! I love an easy one interspersed between difficult or time-consuming ones.

As you said ... it is very striking indeed! Love the contrast of your colours.

I just put up #57+58 ... so I'm now officially with you, and back at it!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!
