Here is my"sun rising thru the window" I was looking thru my scraps for clouds and found a 4" strip with just a smidgin of the sun... It's barely visable. Wood Lily reminds me of # 17 Cats & Mice....I had to take that one apart several times too. Would you believe it was always the center square..

Very nice Anne-love the peek of sunshine. I had trouble with the top triangle-I'm going to lose that point in the second block.

Can you see my dove of peace flying past my window?

Howdy! Congrats on finding some sky w/sun rays. My peculiar outer frame fabric on 109 was another Keepsake Quilting random square of weird looking fabric; I sure got to use up a lot of those odd-ball squares, I'm happy to say.

I think #110 is very similar to #82 (Spider Legs) and was just as annoying to construct. (It almost sounds as though I didn't have a good time with this project. I DID have a good time, but admit there were several blocks that begged me to throw them on the floor and stomp on them.)

Here are my 109 & 110:

Again, pretty blocks, i'm with you weezie, I didn't care for blocks 89 or 108. Here are mine.

It doesn't seem possible that there is one more week for these blocks. Right now I'm almost through with the quilting on the borders, just one side and one end left and then the binding.

Block 110 is gorgous! It looks a bit above my ability level, but most of these blocks are and I keep doing them anyway

Here are my blocks for week 55.
I didn't discover until I posted this picture of block 110 that I have a big mistake. I had a big problem with this pp pattern, so I am not going to do it over.

Ok, daughter has worked on my computer and I had to think this morning how to log in again; so much has happened this last week, hoping things will settle down now. I love the blocks lades..the rays of sunshine, the dove of peace, the lovely purple and the perfect blocks. Window to me said "window in shed" on the farm. Wood lily a folktale about a wizard that turned the child into a woodland flower hidden from sight...

Yes it reminded me of spider legs also. So much I have learned from everyone here...another project???Maybe.

Jan RN - I love your quilting. The dove is great.

janRN 08-17-2011 04:19 AM

I think these are some of the prettiest blocks I've seen. The colors are all so different. And the piecing-I thought we'd slack off a little, but no--you all nailed these blocks. Beautiful!!

celwood 08-17-2011 06:11 AM

It's great to see how different people express themselves with the same blocks. I enjoy looking at these. They are all beautiful.

These blocks are pretty and inspiring. I'm considering starting this quilt. Are some of you doing quilt as you go? How will you put the blocks together?

Beautiful blocks everyone

the wrench block looks the same as the other (cant remember the name now) but the color placement makes it different. so not EXACTLY the same block... but defiantly a TWIN

I quilted each block as I went by hand, with batting no backing. Now I have decided to add setting triangles making the block 10 1/2" rather than the sashing and corner squares. If doing over, I would wait to quilt until I had added the setting triangles and quilt the whole square. Would save piecing the batting.

RWQuilts and Mirabelle - What a finish to a long journey, beautiful blocks.

It's been a great journey and doing blocks two at a time made it a very do-able project! My problem is space...space big enough to lay out my blocks...hmmm...just thought I could get a sheet and lay it on my bed and pin blocks in place...that might work so I could roll it up...ya think???

Thank you Violet, I purchased my backing fabric and wadding yesterday so hope to get it together this weekend and start quilting it. That should keep me occupied for a while :P

Well I gotta say Block #110 is a test of skill & defianately backs up the meaning of scant 1/4" not much room for error in this block. All the tips from you ladies who have gone before me were very helpful! Startch starch starch, press press press! Sure is a Beauty! So far I think it is my FAV!

Using the same Fabrics in #2 & #110

Blue Bell 09-27-2011 05:15 PM

Congratulations for making 110 blocks. You all did a magnificent job.

Ladies ... You have all shown a lot of creativity in these two blocks! many original impressions, for sure! Here's mine ...#109 -- Windows ... Sorry, but there's nothing too original from me!and#110 -- Wood Lily ... used that bright fabric from the Streaks of Lightning block. IMHO it doesn't look near so bright this time round!
