If you look closely at my tri, you will notice that I didn't add the narrow strips of background to the edges of mine. I reasoned that with that strip sewn to matching background tris, my RS1 would look smaller, so I extended the lines of the design and did it that way. If you are intending to use coloured inbetween tris, then the 'frame' of the background will look good Just another thing to think about.

I have done several tris this way, after I realised what would happen with my tris matching my background.

I can't imagine that any of you will have problems with C3 or A5, being the hardened Janiacs that you are now. J8 has four little melons in the corners that will need applique, but even those should be relatively easy by now.

There is quite a bit of scope this week for those of you using three colours too.

Thanks for the heads up Lesley. Looks beautiful as usual!

Lookin' good ladies! I see I am getting behind the "over achievers" group. I love the blocks though. I'll have to pull my list and make sure on the block #'s...I'm confused now without looking at the list.

Lacelady 07-17-2010 10:55 AM

Oooops, sorry folks, I made a boo boo. Because I crossed off my schedule as I did each block, I misread I8 for J8. This week 30 should actually have I8, not the one I have pictured.

Elle's block is the correct one. I can't redo my pic easily, as I have the quilt assembled now, so please forgive me

Well done Elle, yours look lovely, as usual.

Butterflyspain 07-17-2010 02:57 PM

Thanks and you are forgiven for giving me a heart attack LOL

sandpat 07-17-2010 05:50 PM

BTW IF like me you were working from the very first schedule Klue gave us then there were as fas as I am aware just two typos and she made out a new schedule. Its on Page 180 of the original DJ thread.

Its very minor it occurs in august 2nd and August 23rd on the old schedule where Klue had RS2 twice.

It now reads TR12 and RS2 respectively

Hope that help you all.

Ditto, Jan, lovely blocks.

new2quilting 07-18-2010 08:09 PM

Lesley,
How far behind would I be if I asked to join since this is all new to me? Could you tell me the sizes of the blocks and what size the final quilt will be? How many blocks are you making? It really looks like fun especially when there are so many doing it together and supporting one another.
What a great group everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

You can join in anytime you want, we have several who have just started. Some have started on week 25 and these go really quickly as they are slightly easier to start with. You can work backward then and still be in the frame so to speak.
There is a Schedule of how many blocks to make per week On the original thread called Dear Jane Cyber Sew page 180 is the correct schedule (first had a couple of glitches) average its 4 or 5 blocks and we have a week off every 6 weeks so you can do catch up then as well.
We currently have posted week 30 but don´t let that put you off as some of us are over achieving on this one.

There are over 200 blocks and the finished size is 4 1/2" so you make a 5" block. Best plan is to buy the CD as all the blocks, sizes, different arrangement of blocks are there. Hope that helps

Sorry Lesley I answered for you as you are not around yet.

Elle

ilovejunkandstuff 07-19-2010 02:03 AM

Yes, you should join in. I am joining. I am waiting on my CD. Then I will start on the week they are on and work with them and catch up on the others as I can. It will be a lot of fun. And so much help here if you have questions.

What beautiful blocks! Gosh, are we up to week 30 already?

Butterflyspain 07-24-2010 11:15 AM

Not really Tiffany some of us are a little ahead of the original plan. I am trying to stay on top of it as I am going on holiday and I know I will get behind then so I am just a couple of weeks in front I think not much.

Butterflyspain 08-01-2010 10:20 PM

Good going Patti, these are lovely, this quilt is going to be gorgeous.

Lacelady 08-02-2010 12:21 AM

Patti, those are gorgeous. What we could do with seeing is all of them together from everybody, to get a sense of how your colour schemes look.

jolo 08-02-2010 03:55 AM

beautiful Patti

sandpat 08-02-2010 05:26 AM

Thanks everyone!

I agree Lace....I love seeing the group shots of all the blocks. I think that when we finish this 6 wk. period...we should do another "group" shot of all of them. I laid all of mine out on top of the sashing fabric when I bought it and I have to say...I got really excited about moving forward!
