I know this is a week early, but some are ahead of themselves, and I would hate it if they had nowhere to post their pics.
We are still on relatively easy weeks, and I didn't have any problems with this Tri. It seemed to fall into place quite nicely. Please don't panic, I moved my RS4 to somewhere else in the quilt, so you are looking at the 'wrong' Tri here in this pic. Sorry about that. F2, I treated each wedge separately, joined them into two groups of four, then joined the two halves. I found K13 easy, a nine patch in the middle, and squares and half squares round it. E3, More half squares - so fairly straighforward. |
Nice blocks Lesley, Donīt like the look of the bottom left one, looks difficult to me. Goin to start back at the weekend with Jane again. Have finished the IRR, but still waiting on two others in the post.
|
This weeks set are all beautiful, but I'm not sure how much I believe you about the ease of them Lesley....a couple look pretty hard. I'll let you know later..I plan to start on them today or tonight....we'll see how the day goes (I weaned calves last night and its kind of hectic around here today)

Thats really good news to Jolo, so glad he is doing so well.

Such good news Jolo!
|
You must be feeling relatively relieved, Jolo - he's not out of the woods yet, but obviously responding to treatment, which is all good news.
|
Yes thank you all so much

Finished my set today. This was the easiest triangle yet I think!!
I was putting it away and noticed that I have one done that will be very close to this one...they are the same fabs...oh well...I can always re-arrange, right?? week 32 |
it is your quilt, so rearrange away
|
Your right luv....I gave up on trying to keep it straight when I was just digging in the stack for fabric each time...so I'm sure I will have to move a few of them to balance it out well. We'll see..
|
This has happened to me too but I figured the same, my quilt, I wonīt be putting the basket on sitting to the side like DJ did either, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Elle Patti, love your set, especially the bottom right one, great choice of fabrics. I rearranged several of my tris because of the very reason you have - I used fabrics to similar to each other, hence my tri for this week is the 'wrong' one. I had planned my colour scheme throughout the blocks, but left the tris unplanned, just using up batiks that I had, a lot of which aren't in the middle. |
I'm so glad to hear that you 2 will be or did the same thing! I started to ask you Lesley if you had moved any, but then remembered that you used the "planned" ATW color scheme. I didn't think about your tri's not being "planned"
Elle, I agree...the basket will be handle side "up" |
I didn't really plan my tris because I was using odds and ends of batiks for them, plus a few new ones, and some from the centre blocks, and I couldn't see how to plan them.
It wasn't until I had sort of half way complete rows of tris that I could lay them out and see what looked unbalanced, plus make sure that a tri using a centre block fabric wasn't next to a block using the same. |
I can see where that is going to be a bit tricky when I get to that point....and I WILL get to that point....sometime... :D

|
Well yes you could, only then I would give up I think, this quilt is the biggest project I have ever done as I guess most of you too. However it wonīt beat me thats for sure (fighting talk).
I think personally I need to invest in EQ7. OR should I get 5 or 6 to start me off ? HELP I need your words of wisdom please. Elle |

Awww Meredith, congratulations on your new son!!!!
Its nice to see you back working as you know I love your blocks! These are no exception. Did you tell us what your sashing fabric is going to be??? Is it that light color that you used in parts of this set? |

Using the 4 creams is an interesting thought! I went the other direction and I am using a dark chocolate brown from another of the Moda Kansas Troubles line...Wildflower seranade. I'm not sure about the cornerstones. I'll have to decide when I lay the whole thing out.
I'm going with the dark chocolate for the sashing and the tris since I liked Lacelady's idea of not using the scrappy tris for the "betweens". I'm hoping that I don't regret the decisions since I've already bought the fabric. I might lay out everything that I've done so far on the sashing fabric at the end of this 6 week group to see how it is looking so far....I'm anxious!! |
Patti, I'm sure it will look great, and dark chocolate sounds so yummy! That Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt, on the book cover, has chocolate sashings and border trim, it is very pretty.
Do share the pic with the blocks on your new fabric! You know that discussion about how we see our work, somehow it looks different (always better) in a pic! |
