After the holiday break, its time to get back to it Ladies! This week is a good mix of pp or traditional piecing and applique.
J3 was a combination of both for me. I pp'd all of the corner triangles, then cut the center square out. I sewed the corner triangles to the center square. Then I used the freezer paper method of applique to add the beige center section. In the software, it is template "D" . I found that it went together easily using this method. L14 was all applique. I actually sewed 2 sets (1 larger as the larger circle and 1 smaller as the inner circle) of regular 4 patch blocks. I then cut out circle templates out of plastic. I centered my 4 patch blocks on the circle templates, basted around to make a good circle, then appliqued these down. M6 is fairly straight forward pp'ing or traditional piecing. I have NO idea why K3 is in this pictute--sorry RS7- UGH! I did a fairly crappy job on this block, but its in the quilt as "finished". I PP'd the bottom section, then used the back basting method to do the hearts. It appears that I should have used freezer paper. Have fun getting back into the swing of Jane and Happy New Year! week 53 |
