Awesome looking work BC! It's going to be exciting to see all the finished ones.

Janstar 02-15-2010 01:02 PM

Luv, Your baby quilt is so soft and warm looking. That will be a lucky baby! BTW, I am nuts for pink, so I really like it!! LOL!

cheriffic 02-16-2010 02:51 PM

Lookin great everyone. I still have to finish (start) week 6

MoodyKim 02-17-2010 07:13 AM

Wow BC your blocks are neat! I am still having problems have to throw most of mine away, I will learn how to make these little blocks. Now I know why some of the quilts took 5 years to finish. :D you have to make and remake and remake to get one little block to look good. I can do this, I can do this! That's my new saying if I repeat it over and over while working on the JS blocks I will learn how to make them! RIGHT????

Esqmommy 02-17-2010 07:44 AM

Yes, you can do this Kim!!!! Persevere my dear!

retrogirl02 02-17-2010 09:08 AM

I think that's why the motto is Finished is better than Perfect. Hang in there!

Janstar 02-17-2010 04:55 PM

You can do it Kim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take a deep breath and go! Ask us if you have a particular problem. One of us should be able to help you!

sandpat 02-17-2010 05:20 PM

Stop throwing the blocks away Kim!!!! I'm sure they aren't that bad...once you put them in a group, the little missq's don't show up so much (as me how I know this????)....but, Hang in there...we're here for you to comisserate with!

coastienest 02-19-2010 05:34 PM

Love, love, love all your blocks !!!!!!!

wilhelmina 02-20-2010 06:19 PM

All the finished blocks look wonderful!! Great inspiration, thank you all for posting your pics, it is motivating. I am starting with Week 6, I will post the pics under Week 6 with everyone elses, in the next day or two. All my Week 6 blocks are done except the tri, which I did BUT it was the wrong size, as I didn't change the default from 4.5 ... oh my, it was so hard and I didn't realize how wrong it was until I was almost done, dah, but I am keeping the darn thing, it will be used later for something, maybe a coaster! :)

Well, this project has been too ambitious for me to keep up with. When my enthusiasm was high, I suspected this might be a bit much but would so love to have a DJ quilt! What I didn't realize was that it would become as bad as it has.

So, here is my lonely ol' block from - uh - week 3? - the only one I've managed to make since being back into the full swing of things. If this was my only quilt project, it wouldn't be so bad, but there are other patterns on my drawing board with names attached to them.

Over the life of this quilt, I will be here in the background; envying and drooling and commenting. Every once in a while I'm going to make a block and, in time, will have my GreenPiece.

Everyone's blocks are wonderful. The Olympics has gotten in my way of sewing. No TV in the sewing room. :-(

Sheree from Chicago 02-22-2010 06:58 PM

Thank you! It won't go anywhere in my house but definitely patriotic. Perfect for a table cover (with clear vinyl over of course) for the 4th of July!

That will be one fancy 4th of July party you're having with such a spectacular centerpiece as your finished quilt will make!

dakotamaid 02-22-2010 07:30 PM

Still following all of you, beautiful blocks! All of them!!! I'm cheering you all on, keep em coming!!!!!

wilhelmina 02-22-2010 08:26 PM

Congrats Sherre on winning the drawing!

Everyone's blocks are very pretty!

Quilter7x 02-22-2010 08:38 PM

Has everyone starched their fabrics before paper piecing them? Seems like it would help a lot but I'm not used to doing it for regular quilting and haven't paper pieced much. Just looking for opinions. :)

Esqmommy 02-22-2010 09:06 PM

Sheree - your collection is stunning!!

Diane (quilter7x) - yes, starch the bejeezez out of 'em is what I do. It helps tremendously!!

HA HA HA great one, Sheree! I was standing on top of a bar stool, hovering right around the ceiling. I have a mischievous doggie, so I thought I'd better keep them counter height.
True story: after I took the picture, I lost one of the blocks and had total meltdown...wanna know why? It was one I didn't have to re-do!!

Oh No Retrogirl! Did the dog eat it?

sandpat 02-23-2010 07:01 AM

Bearpaw and Retro...your blocks look fabulous!!!!!

Now I'm worried about your block...did you find it?

retrogirl02 02-23-2010 07:48 AM

Yes, Sandpat. Thanks for asking.

Even better, Sheree...I guess at some point it made it's way into the bedroom and the hubs ended up with the ziplock stuck to his face while he was sleeping. He moved it to my pillow.

Since I was unaware of the migration to the boudoir, I tore my sewing room apart...and cried. It's fine now and funny, too. All the blocks stay in the sewing room from now on and the doggie has been banned.

sandpat 02-23-2010 08:28 AM

I'm sooo glad you found it Retro! That must have been a sight...your DH with a plastic bag and DJ block stuck to his face..where is that darn camera when you need it???

retrogirl02 02-23-2010 08:35 AM

You're not kidding, Sandpat! I keep telling him I need a video camera for all kooky stuff that happens to us.

That could have been a viral video among quilters!!! I was checking my pictures posted on this thread...like seeing them on the computer would make me feel ANY better...I kept saying see, I did it---I knew I did that one---I even LIKED that one! I completely panicked, total freak out!

sewsewquilter 02-23-2010 09:27 AM

Glad you found your block Retro.
