Hello all...here's the thread to post your blocks, weeks 1-6. If you can, gather them altogether and post a photo so we can see all of them! I promised I'd get this thread started so I'm doing it before I have mine all together...just wanted to open it up for all of you cyber sewers!

Let's see 'em ladies!

Retro and Sandpat, love your blocks. They really do look smashing when all together. I am rushing to get mine together. Gotta play ketchup! Taking what I can to the hospital when I sit with my Dad.

Charlee 02-14-2010 08:24 AM

Janstar 02-14-2010 08:28 PM

Patti and Retro, those are beautiful when they are all laid out together. It also gives us a sence of what the big quilt will look like, the colors. Both so different and so pretty!! I'll get mine laid out soon.

no it was not a class, we all bought the software and/or the book (Dear Jane Quilt) and decided to all make it together using this forum. on here we can share tips and encourage each other to get this quilt done. it is going to take about a year and a half according to the schedule we are keeping of 3-4 blocks and 1 triangle a week with a break every few weeks.

i am really enjoying this and have lots of spare time on my hands at the moment. it is just as easy for me to do 2 sets as it is to do one. for the week off i am going to start quilting the baby quilt for my grandbaby that is due this summer. not sure how i am going to get it to her though....she is going to be born in Germany as her daddy is in the air force

sewjoyce 02-15-2010 05:07 AM

OK, I'm just a spectator here but I'm absolutely drooling over everyone's blocks. They are all just spectacular!!! :D :D

sandpat 02-15-2010 05:21 AM

Jan, your blocks are soooo great! I love to just sit and scroll through people's sets as it really helps me see how the pretty the quilt will turn out..I love your choices!

Luv...whew...just shaking my head...your 2 sets are wonderful! And you are gonna do the baby quilt at the same time?? Whew! Love to keep those hands busy, huh? Oh...and you can maybe fit that baby quilt into the large flat rate box...the PO I think gives rate discounts to military bases. It wouldn't cost all that much to send it though...its really pretty too!

Esqmommy 02-15-2010 07:15 AM

Jan and BC...you can really start to see the beauty of these little babies coming out when they're all together. Both of yours are sooo pretty and so vastly different from one another. This is so neat seeing them all together!!

retrogirl02 02-15-2010 08:40 AM

OH my! I thought that the break was the reward...seeing everyone's progress is amazing. What a great idea!

sandpat 02-15-2010 08:55 AM

retrogirl02 02-15-2010 08:57 AM

luvmortherest 02-15-2010 09:19 AM

bc those blocks are amazing

luvmortherest 02-15-2010 09:38 AM

btw everyone the circle method that blue chicken uses works well for the melons as well. i used it and instead of doing one continueous stitching line all the way around i stitched from point to point so that i had 2 tails instead of one.
