I think I'll participate in this as well. Should be a lot of fun! However, I'll be at a quilting guild event on Saturday and will have to wait until I get home in order to start sorting out fabric!

I will be joining you in the caboose for the first few weeks but will be sure to get the clues so I can work on it after my hip replacement on Monday lets me.

There is not sign up. Judy will start a new thread on Saturday at 9am Pacific in the Block of the Month and Week section. That will be the thread thru the whole ride. All you have to do is show up. We'll see you there.

Would love to join, but am working EMS so am on call 3 Saturdays per month and if there is a certain time you meet, I will not be able to join, but it it is a read and follow and post mystery I am in! Just joined this site but love mystery quilts

quiltyswiss, this is a quilt-at-your-own-speed mystery quilt. I will post on Saturday, and you do your work whenever you get to it. Not everyone gets all the clues done during the week they are posted. Glad you will be able to join us. See you Saturday on the new thread. It will NOT be posted here, this is just a general chit chat thread.

I think I would like to try this. However I am going to be out of town at various times. Will the directions etc. be available for days other than on Saturdays? I could access them when I return home. Is that acceptable and manageable?

Yes it will be, again...Since it's starting to get cool-er, I'm thinking a big o' crock pot full of tater soup sure would hit the spot..Of course gotta have plenty of cheese, & buttered crackers with it..I'm ready...:thumbup:

I am finishing up one quilt (for our bed cause DH says he's tired of not having one for us), and my eldest DD's wedding quilt to start (she got married 2 weeks ago!). BUT, I will follow along. Thanks!

Glad paintmejudy is feeling well enough to get another one of her wonderful mystery quilts a go. For newbies, I have only been quilting a couple of years. These mysteries are sooo much fun and easy to do. Everyone here will help you through it if you have questions. Once you try this, you will be hooked. You work at your own speed. You don't sign up. If you want to try it and not post anything that is fine too. The hardest part is like any other project---picking out fabric. On the last one, I took the suggestion of someone else who was doing batiks. I am so glad I did. I love how mine turned out. So if you are unsure, take the plunge. You won't be sorry. The good thing is you can even go back and do the first two mysteries if you want also. Everything is still on this board. Thanks again Judy. Ok I am done trying to sell this. :D

Geeeez it looks like the caboose is full. I was going to bring the drinks too. They would have been good with all the cookies that will be there. Do not know how the quilt will turn out with all the booze, oops I mean drinks. Have to go and look for another car to get into. This will be my first mystery quilt. I have been quilting for 3 years, and on my second quilt, not too fast just fussy.

Soooo exciting! I also would like to jump on board....Although I have quilted for many years, this is my very first Mystery Quilt. And, the food and drink sounds outrageous! Please save room for me in the Club Car....I will put together a pan of Tiramisu. I am thrilled to find out that all of these desserts are calorie free, they really are, aren't they?

i'm going to jump on board. even tho i can barely fit on board. so many other projects in hand. jane, 50 stars, last yrs BOM stars waiting to be sit together. house, waiting to be set together. and DD's birthday quilt--due last week. can't think what else. working on them all. where's the wine and cheese? maybe i'll bring some.

Ooooooo 'tater soup ..... yummy. I love winter foods. And winter drinks, too -- I think I will bring a huge crock pot of hot toddy for an opening toast to begin our journey tomorrow morning.

SewNso, the engineer has agreed to add an extra club car and an extra sleeping car, so we can accomodate all the gals who want to climb on board.

And now, a little something to whet your appetite. I always have a finished project before I post the first clue, to make sure it all works together the way my brain envisioned it. And I must say, I absolutely love the way it turned out, looks better than I thought it would! So, all I can hope is that you will love your mystery quilt as much as I love mine. And I am going to make another sometime after the first of the year.

These mysteries are a lot of work, but a lot of fun for me to create. And your comments and the fun you have along the way make it all worth while. So, thank you for participating!

I'm just finishing up another mystery quilt this week, so I see no reason not to start another one, do you? We're not actually supposed to QUILT all these tops we're making are we??? :)

my theory is that someday I will have a LA and will need all the tops to learn with
that is my story and I am sticking to it

I quilted the monster ( photographed while being held by two giggling, tall friends ) that is my avatar on a Bernina 1630 .........which is why I dream of an APQS Millenium (every night and most days)

I am with you someday hope to own a LA until then I just keep looking at them and dreaming. I am afraid I will be late in joining in tomorrow as I have tons of homework that I have put off all week and now it is due. Just can't get motivated this quarter kind of burned out.

Welcome Mary....do not be afraid ...we are all fun...the instructions (which will be posted later today) are broken down into easy steps and we all help each other.....the "Ride" starts at 9 (Arizona time) and can be reached through the main Quilting Board........the section with BOM's and such.......'see' you then.

GINGER COOKIES ok I will join in. I am now going ot see what the other ones were like lol but I have been waiting for a new project to join in on. I finished my boom blocks (over 50) and now its twiddle thumb time. I guess my question would be even though instructions are forth coming.. how many colors will each block need? I am really hoping to make a quilt with less mix of colors next but guess I could do a multi fabric one..
