Love the red, such a striking block. All the blocks posted are really nice. Good job, ladies.

Oksewnsew and Annt59: Thanks for the compliments.

I made the extra July block so I could have enough to finish my baby quilt top. I hopefully will finish the top tomorrow.

I don't think so Libster, or she missed me :( I didn't even get a little scrap of fabric to think about :)

Here are my most recent blocks in a baby quilt top that is 39" by 45". The backing will be the panda fabric. It will be sandwiched and finished by volunteers at a charity.

I like your idea of using the backing in the front too, very nice. It leads me to a question I am going to throw out there. If you do the backing with flannelette, or something of that nature, could you also do what you just did with the top? Mix two different types of materials together? I have done the flannel in the back for baby blankets and they loved it, but to use it in the front to??

Oksewnsew 08-16-2017 07:18 AM

Very nice Retiredteacher, like the combo of the blocks. YES Ann, you can mix the fabrics. I have a throw I did years ago and it's still in use today...Be sure to wash/dry your flannel first, it has a tendency to shrink. It sure makes them cuddly. :)

No, haven't picked another block yet. Let me see what I can find. Will try to post later, ok? :)

Okay great on the mixing of fabric, all these brainstorm ideas and now to try to do them, lol. Thanks.
