Did the New York Beauty Blocks go to sleep---did I miss something along the way? I just started up again, and finally got it to where the curves are coming a little easier. Haven't seen any pictures or activities for a long time.

I agree, it seems some of us did not get the patterns before the links were deactivated. Thank goodness I downloaded all of them in a couple of places.
I had asked for some help on Block #8 but heard nothing. Not one person responded. this lead to me believe nobody was on task anymore. |
Boy am I ever disappointed.
I came in to view this thread and to see if anyone really did leave me a note as to what to do with this NYB block. I was so stumped with it, that I had not looked at it for over a month. April 24th to be exact. Not even Kristen has responded. Never fear though, I had to run to town and get some help with block #8 and they are now completed. This is why I normally do not join in groups on the internet, everyone can disappear too easy. At least, this gave me the courage to start a new quilting concept. |
Rainagade, I'm sorry you feel this way. I didn't start this project so I can't help you but I'm glad you did get some help. It's not always this way. At least one group on this board has been together for several years now.

On the 12/10 my husband lost his job, on 12/17 he left me, on 12/23 I was in a car accident, I have been in physical therapy done with that, on 12/31 I came down with shingles on my eyelid imagine that all the stress then in May my husband wanted to work on the marriage but lied about the affair, the other woman got pregnant . . . my life has been a soap orera and barely liveable. I live in Salem Oregon if you want together and still need help I would be happy some weekend to meet up with you. I did FINALLY sew some more blocks this weekend! |
Kristen I am so sorry to hear everything you have and are going through. Prayers said.
|
I was watching this thread in the hope of being able to start at some stage and was disappointed to see it come to a halt.
Kristen I also am so sorry to hear of all that has befallen you recently and I hope that things start to look a little brighter for you soon. |
Wow. You have been through a really bad patch. My heart goes out to you. I wish I did live close by. Please know that there are others out there who have been there, done that, and have the t-shirt. We'll be there to support you.
I am glad to see that you took a little bit of time for you, and sewed up a few blocks. Caressing fabric has therapeutic value. Try to pamper yourself every day. It might be as little as sitting down for five minutes with a cup of tea, but take it as "me" time. I, too, have quit making the NYB quilt, but perhaps I should get at it again. Hugs to you Kristen. |
Thanks everybody I really appreciate your care and prayers! I am going to finish my blocks so you'll start seeing me post photos again. I started block 5 last night so pictures soon to follow . . . hopefully!
|
i intend to finish mine too but just like everyone else other things took top priority for a while. soon will have new blocks to post. ant to see everyone's finished blocks put together in a top a have no idea how I will be joining mine and could use some inspiration

Finished the "9th" block and started doing 8 more of block 0 - the second picture is a layout option - the center block (it was just what I had with me) most likely won't be the finished version but the 8 - 0 blocks will surround whatever center block I decide on.

Here are a couple of NON-Ula's New York Beauty blocks that I have saved on my computer a long time ago. . . I think I am going to make a few more to add to the quilt maybe some darker colors to blend in with all the brighter yellows, greens and blues.
|
am back to working on my NYB blocks. ( i was lazy enough to print all the patterns at the same time so didnt have the worry of relocating them as some of you did.) I took a pic of the latest creations but my phone didnt send to computer like i thought as needed to be charged. will post it tomorrow

finally got camera to work. here's block #7. two more to go.
|
Roseirish I would never have chosen those fabrics to use in these blocks. I really love it. Awesome and unique choice of fabrics. Now you have me wanting to do a NYB in all black and white. First I should probably start my project. I still haven't started. I did print them all out. They are in a folder somewhere.
|
Where can I find the pattern for the New York Beauty blocks? Would love to make this quilt.
|
stunning blocks girls...
|
Just snooping on this sight Wow some beautiful blocks. I have made a few. Need to try some of the other patterns.
