QuiltnLady I really like your fabrics! I don't celebrate Christmas, but I think those are lovely! I love flowers in fabric :p

So I measured my Balkan Puzzle and it's 12 inches instead of 12 1/2 inches grrr I'm just going to make it work!

Here is my Flying Four Patch, I took a little leeway with the four patch corners. I had some strips of a black & pepper and white left over from a different project so I used that for my corners and used a straight black a smidgen wider for the borders around them. I did use a different method with the flying geese, I used the two off-set square method and cut them with my template, little waste and nice points.

such nice soft colors there in the last quilt. one block at a time girl. sometimes we all have blocks that dont measure up but it could work as an outside block perhaps.. or if you put in sashing put it on the bottom in a corner so you can pad the size of the sashing so it almost lines up. that is a 1/4 inch each side not much it might not be noticable. or you chock it up to experience and if you get the energy try that block just one more time this time watching how your size of cutting the pieces goes measure measure measure and when you sew your blocks/rows together measure them as you sew them together. are they 3.5" when sewn up? if not fix it right then. then sew it to the next one is that the correct measurement? so on a bit pain like BUT you can take out one small seam vs. a whole row.

Well here is my Chain and Bar and my Flying Four Patch. I am really enjoying this new adventure! Thanks Sis!!! I wish we lived closer, I think I still need some coaching! I thought these were suppose to be 12" squares but I think my seams are too small. The square ends up being bigger than 12" so I trim them up to 12".... I think I should have trimmed it to 12.5" inches now that I think about it.... I guess my quilt will be just a tad smaller.... ;<)

you are doing great. It really doesn't matter that much on the size, you can bluff with sashing, or if they are all the same size, anyway, your quilt will be an inch or so smaller. Just use wider sashing/boarders. Just have fun and enjoy the process. Remember, 4 rules:
1. CUT ACCURATELY
2. USE GOOD 1/4 INCH SEAMS
3. PRESS EACH SEAM AS YOU GO
4. TRIM AS NEEDED AS YOU GO
Oh, and a fifth rule: enjoy!!
Your points look great. This is absolutely NOT criticism, just my teaching. Keep in mind on your points that you will be sewing another 1/4 inch seam, so you don't want to trim right up to the point, leave a seam allowance. And, don't look too closely to my work. It is one thing to know, it is quite another to practice. Hey, I chose the right word, that is what we are doing. Practicing!! Life is one big practice session.
