Cindy, your pups are so cute! And the quilt is beautiful! I just got back from vacation and plan to do my practice paper piecing that QuiltE recommended and i have been putting off! But this weekend is all about practicing on the easy patterns first. I forget who mentioned doing a SYE practice block before you do your main fabrics...this may be a good idea for me...so thank you for the suggestion. I think I will use left over Christmas fabrics from my last project...can use them for gifts some how.

Cindy, your quilt is amazing! I am so envious of anyone who does applique! That is just so hard for me as my arthritic fingers really ache when I do hand work. Yes, your quilter did a wonderful job!

Cindy, your quilt is gorgeous!
Akweiland, good luck on practicing. PP is not hard once you get the hang of it. |
Mirabelle, what is the design for your embroidered/applique animal quilt. I love yours you did a terrific job on it. I have made many machine embroidered quilts and so far non of them have been stiff. The stiffness may be caused by the stabilizer you are using, not sure who was concerned about the stiffness of embroidered quilts but they should not turn out that way.
|
Gramquilter, I was concerned. But I thought it was full embroidery and it isn't. I know the Embroidery Library designs (non applique) are beautiful but quite dense so I would not use those I guess. I searched my files and found some nice applique designs :)

Anael, I have used designs from OESD, Loralie, Anita Goodesign, Dakota Collectibles, and Embroidery Library Designs on my quilts not applique but machine embroidery some very dense and they are not stiff. I am working on a Loralie embroidery quilt now and the blocks are not stiff.
