Wonderful......just wonderful !!!!!!!

Dedemac 09-13-2013 06:39 PM

Sheri, Those are wonderful quilts and a perfect way to tie the generations and quilts together. I love the fact that the all of the quilts are the same but different.

And yes there are some of us who still check this thread. Looking forward to the rest of your finishes!:)

Pam H 09-13-2013 08:30 PM

Sheri, I love them all!! Can't wait to see the rest.

irishrose 09-13-2013 10:37 PM

Sheri, what a sweet, generous, caring person you are to make such meaningful quilts for your family. Well done!

coopah 09-14-2013 04:02 AM

Yes, this thread still pops up. Love the quilts that have been done and amazed that several folks have done more than one. Retirement hasn't been retirement for me. It will be awhile before I can actually do another mystery train, but I like to ride along and see all the pretties!

MamaHen 09-14-2013 05:40 AM

Wonderful use of all those tiny HST.

Evie 09-14-2013 06:26 AM

Sheri, your latest quilts are just as lovely as the previous ones. Your mother-in-law is a lucky lady to have you as a daughter! She she get two quilts? I love your "waste triangles" quilt and now have an idea of what to do with all of mine.

whitepine 09-14-2013 06:46 AM

Ditto all of the above, Sheri. Great job.

SheriR 09-14-2013 07:17 AM

Oh....you ladies are all so sweet. You have been my inspiration here!! I deeply thank you for that. You give me tears.

I actually went to Idaho the first of July for my stepfather's funeral. He was so good to my mom. My trip was only scheduled for four days, two to travel and one for funeral business and one to visit family. The Friday I went to visit I walked into my Inlaws house and found my FatherInLaw sick from breaking his shoulder. MotherInLaw in tears from the weariness of caring for him. Needless to say, I stayed the help. My FatherInLaw deteriorated before my eyes and passed the following Friday. I believe God works in mysterious ways and I was meant to be there at that time. I still call my sweet MotherInLaw each day and give her updates and send pictures of each quilt progress.

I shared my Grandma Triangle here: :D

Hey Scrappy Mystery Train ladies. I did it!!! All 23 tops finished. Here are the last three and if you want to see them all, I made a Grandma Quilt album in my profile. There's a link in my signature line below. Each quilt is named for the grandchild that will receive it. You see they called me back to Idaho the end of September to care for my MotherInLaw who had taken a turn for the worse. While we were there she picked which quilt would go to each grandchild. She passed away October 4. Exactly eleven weeks after her sweetheart passed. Isn't life crazy? And so precarious.

I have to thank Judy again for this pattern. It was just what I needed, just when I needed it. All the quilts are so wonderful and the kids are all excited to receive them. (I promised them for Christmas.)

Beautiful! That's a lot of scraps!

So sorry for you loss but what a wonderful story to go with the quilts!

whitepine 11-25-2013 07:05 AM

Sheri, What a great job you did. It will be one of those important family stories that will be handed down with the quilts, maybe for many generations. I love that she picked out where each quilt went because she saw something in each quilt that reminded her of that person. It is a good pattern, thanks Judy for introducing it.

Evie 11-25-2013 07:11 AM

Sheri, all the quilts are beautiful! Your taking on the task (bet it really was a "task" when done with so much love) is to be admired and I'm sure the grandkids will cherish them. I've enjoyed being on this journey with you. Thanks!

TcMay 11-25-2013 08:35 AM

Oh my goodness Lady what an incredible act of love for Grandma and all those kids. You are to be commended from afar. You did a fantastic job with all those blocks. So sorry for your loss.

You have all made me feel so good. Thank you. I still have 22/23 to sandwich and quilt. I'm thinking by Christmas my FM skills will be very much improved. As soon as my grass is dry again I plan on laying them in the front yard and taking a picture of them all together. Then the mailing will begin. I'll show y'all a pic when I get it taken. :D

Rose Burnett 11-26-2013 02:05 AM

I just finished viewing all of your lovely quilts! What a wonderful feat! Everyone will love and treasure their quilt made from
their Grandmother's stash. You are to be commended for accomplishing such a loving gift to your Mother-in-Law.

Caroline S 11-26-2013 06:03 AM

Well done Sheri. I also like your quilt label.

IBQLTN 01-14-2014 10:55 AM

Don't worry Judy, we'll be patient ... sort of! LOL

I haven't unearthed my machine or cutting table since the holidays ... no hurry here.

Congrats on the new machine, just sorry it had to be a breakdown that did it!

Better late than never, right? Had these ready to finish for a niece's twins and they got to the bottom of my "to do" bin. Judy, I loved this mystery and have another one started for a quick gift later when needed. The other little crib quilt is just another scrappy.

SheriR 07-21-2014 01:13 PM

Very pretty! Soft little girl colors.

sewsewquilter 07-21-2014 04:17 PM

Like your colors. Don't feel bad. I still have not quilted mine.
