The "sye" spike your english bom.......january

I know this is early...I wanted to get the instructions out a bit earlier than the last one..so here goes...

QuiltingNinaSue 12-30-2013 01:33 PM

Even with print preview, page two of the instructions is cut off and I cannot print out the numbers on the pattern itself.

Thanks for figuring out what you have done, Honchey. Maybe others will have better luck than I have.

QuiltingNinaSue 12-30-2013 02:11 PM

I finally copied the date over on my copied pattern pieces, so I can work on them as time permits.

mirabelle 12-30-2013 03:36 PM

NinaSue did you manage to print off the patterns or would you prefer if I e-mailed to you. Have fallen a bit behind with no computer so its catch up for me.

QuiltingNinaSue 12-30-2013 03:58 PM

Thanks, Mirabelle, but I am fine and good to go now.

roserips 12-31-2013 10:58 AM

Thanks, Mirabelle I need to get caught up on my pictures and have already started on these blocks family matters have gotten in the way since November but hope all will be getting straightened out. I want to get back to sewing.

y.morman 01-02-2014 07:02 AM

I have a friend that has just joined this board and I was telling her bout this pattern. I can not seem to find the other post for the instructions that you have put on line. I looked under bom, links, ect. but can not find the pages you posted for the earlier blocks. Help please.

QuiltingNinaSue 01-02-2014 07:34 AM

y.morman, PM Honchey and Mirabelle about the earlier instructions. January just got back on line this morning.

ThimbleShy 01-02-2014 09:13 AM

I have trouble with this, when I try to print. Patterns always get cut off???

mirabelle 01-02-2014 01:48 PM

ThimbleShy just print off the cutting info and print the actual pattern directly from Quilting on the Square website. It is a free BOM and we have permission to run it here. The pattern is just a guide with large number and not to be used as an actual pattern.
I hope I have made sense, it is very early in the morning here.

Honchey 01-02-2014 07:31 PM

To those of you very new to this thread, You need to get your pattern from Quiltingonthesquare.com...The pattern posted here on this thread is not the pattern you need for your block...It is just for the numbering of the sections..

Mirabelle has been so very kind to figure out the sizes of the pieces needed for the sections of the triangles...

I post them as a consideration for those having a difficult time figuring them out.. it makes it easy for all of us.

There has been a problem where the threads have been removed and the information has been lost forever...I have to get the cutting/number info back in order to post the older threads again.... Please be patient..a few days please...Honchey

QuiltingNinaSue 01-02-2014 07:52 PM

Honchey, do we post our blocks again from the beginning as a family group up to this point?

Honchey 01-02-2014 08:36 PM

After all the threads are reposted and running ok then You'll have to repost the photos because they couldn't be saved. I have to get all the info coordinated before the thread goes back up...

gvolle44 01-02-2014 09:17 PM

Is there a way to just have all the block pictures in one thread? It would be super great to see the pictures without scrolling through all the replies - not that I haven't enjoyed reading them. Thanks

y.morman 01-03-2014 07:04 AM

THANK YOU HONCHEY for finding and reposting older post again! I will be looking for these in a few days.

Honchey 01-04-2014 09:41 AM

Unfortunately that really isn't a good idea...It's been tried before with other projects and the comments become paragraphs and the next thing you know the original thread become lost.. It's too confusing...

Hopefully the cutting/numbered info will be placed in each thread for it's respective block along with the photos of the blocks.. all together in one thread for each month posted...

Not sure where I am at on the Blocks but I think that with these two pictures posted I should be caught up and back on track or at least close to it. I have my next blocks in progress and by the time things get straightened out I should be too.

Here is my first block for January....I think this is correct. The four corners are not part of the block, just the chair I hung it on. Still not sure exactly how I'll finish this. Probably the way it should be.

QuiltingNinaSue 01-05-2014 12:08 PM

Beautiful blocks, Mirabelle and Klgreene and Roserips. I like getting a few ideas before I dive into the SYE block building. Trying to get to that project after....??? have the pattern run off to do.

Here is my Rays of Light and the group of 6 done to this point.I'll add the rest of the borders when I see where I get the best balance of the blocks when they are all done. Not sure yet just how big I want this quilt to become.
JanRN...Your block is stunning with the colors you've chosen.
KLGreene and Roserips very nice. Glad to see such beautiful blocks to start off the year.
Mirabelle...I think your block is Number 8, Diamonds. Now we all know what to do for the next one this month.:D

dcamarote 01-06-2014 06:47 AM

I actually never did paper piecing before and tried this first block back in August. It came out great and I was so proud of myself. I used scraps just to see if I could rise to the challenge. Well, it is now January and I have yet to make one of these. I don't know what is going on but I promised myself I would sew something today; anything because I have not used my machine for about 3 months - unless you count hemming my husband's new PJ's. I went through this last winter too so I know I will come back but your blocks are an inspiration; all of them. They are beautiful and getting me motivated!

QuiltingNinaSue 01-06-2014 07:13 AM

GardenGal, love your color themes and the whole family of SYEs. Great job and great balance there. I could not keep a color scheme going here, so my will be a scrappy combination...still do not know if mine is a quilt or table mats, table runner, etc., it will surprise me in the end, I am sure.

janRN 01-06-2014 07:39 AM

Ggal, those are amazing! I usually get bored making blocks with the same color combos but your blocks are inspiring me to rethink that.

Dcamarote, hemming pjs doesn't count LOL!! We need you to jump in and just start a block--I think they're addicting. I say I'm just going to do one section today and the next thing you know I have 2 or 3 done. I think seasonal depression has a lot to do with motivation, creativity, etc. C'mon--we need to see some blocks, the more I see, the more I'm ispired.

Actually you and GrannyQ started me on this path with your black and white mystery blocks. I think the key is to have some variety among the same color.

Honchey 01-06-2014 08:22 AM

GGal, What a beautiful set of blocks....The balance of colors is sooo perfect...
