Here is my block 3. Again I did not like the big center so I added the lime green to pull from the green "arrows".

Caroline...what great colors. Your background is such a great blender!

QuiltingNinaSue 10-02-2013 01:33 PM

What a beautiful trio Caroline S. I really like how you are doing your centers, and I just may 'copy' your ideas for the big centers. I love how you used the lemon green in the center and on the outside, and your background is perfect with all the blocks so far..

GGal this is what is on the selvedge edge, I didn't realise it was so long ago. DD and I both loved this fabric so we bought the whole range, there is a border print, large and small print, a check and we bought about 6 tone on tones to match so this is what I am using for Spike..

jillnjo 10-02-2013 02:32 PM

It is so fun to see all these gorgeous blocks being PP'd. They will make stunning quilts.

here's my October 1 block. I had to take it apart & re-sew 3 times and still didn't manage to get all my points lined up- finally gave up & decided to accept it as it is- I may remake one later- but for now I've moved on to something else. I sure love everyone else's blocks so far this month!

Your hard work shows but I know those centers can be such buggers! I finally started sewing from the middle point and am getting better results. It's easier to get the bulk on the right side of the needle so it doesn't get pushed under it.

tildiemae 10-03-2013 06:12 AM

Where can I find this pattern for the log cabin cone? Thanks.

DogHouseMom 10-03-2013 07:03 AM

So many great blocks!! I'm loving the bright colors! Wish they went with my decor :(

QuiltingNinaSue 10-03-2013 07:47 AM

There is nothing wrong with your blocks, DHM. Of course, opposites of the color wheel would add touches of color in your decor, but there is nothing wrong with the color of your blocks. Love those warm inviting colors that make one feel welcome and warm and 'at home' comfortable. Many of used blue and oranges together, opposites on the color wheel which makes sense and is colorful and nice. Each depicts a bit of the quilter, just please continue to do it "your way"....as many of the rest of us are doing. Mine is 'almost' ready to post...and it is different.:o

kwiltkrazy 10-03-2013 07:58 AM

DHM- I love your warm and inviting earth tones they are also very soothing.

kwiltkrazy 10-04-2013 09:22 AM

Groovy- your new block is just groovy(hahaha), they look so good together, I too like the hexie look, but don't know if I want to do all those Y-seams.
