JG beautiful block.

nygal 10-05-2013 03:20 AM

I had to post the pictures of all of my blocks under my PROFILE under BOM. I hope everyone will please take a peek!! For some reason for the past year I have been unable to post pictures in the threads. I use to be able to do it but they won't post. Other's were also having this problem. I don't know why. Thanks for looking!:o

Morning All . . . Thanks for all your kind compliments. Everyone's blocks have turned out beautifully .

Not sure about "Y" seams:confused:. I found a YouTube video on how to sew hexies by machine; it seems 'doable.' Just a thought. . . .GP

That's what I'm going to do. Sewing dot to dot. If you haven't added any sashing and have left your paper on, the dots are already marked by where the corners are. Takes patience and accuracy for the best results but after getting these Hexies done right, it's really just more of the same.

DogHouseMom 10-05-2013 07:51 AM

NYGAL ... great blocks. I like the leopard batik

frustratedquilter40 10-05-2013 07:56 AM

Great blocks everyone!!!!!! Love all the different colors and fabrics everyone has chosen. After adding the outer edges (grey) am really liking the look of just putting them together looking like hexagons. May be some ripping going on before the end of this :p

kwiltkrazy 10-05-2013 08:58 AM

Nygal: fantastic blocks, love what you did with the middle of your block. It's going to make one stunning quilt.

I was going to suggest that the reason that the photos would not post was that they needed to be resized! Then you got them to post! I resize all of my photos in Picasa to 640 pixels.

Beautiful colors you used, I love all the batiks!

I apologize for not commenting on everyone's blocks--I'd run out of room in this little box. I've been working lots of extra hours and I just got caught up on all the pics. Wow!!! Each and everyone is fantastic--very impressive! I've been trying to keep my background fabric constant but after seeing what some of you have done with the different background fabric I'm rethinking that. You've also given me so many ideas for different color combos. There is so much inspiration here.

Here's my #3 block:

Jan, Your block is simply SPECTACULAR!!!!!! Love the colors....

nygal 10-07-2013 09:04 AM

I have a confession to make. I am almost done with the next/future block "Tiger Stripes". I am the kind that has to do things when I'm in the mood. I've been in the mood to work on these blocks so I went ahead. I wish I had the rest of them to do too. I won't post a picture of it until it's time for that block to be shown. I am also currently working on a needlepoint picture and just cast on for a knitted baby afghan for my future, God willing, new grandchild that is due in early May.

kwiltkrazy 10-07-2013 12:30 PM

The October block is posted on the SYE website.

JeanieG 10-07-2013 12:56 PM

Thanks kwiltkrazy! I went there a few days ago, and it was available yet.

Here it is-the green block. I am soooo glad I gave up on pink-the pink will look so good in the next block. The picture is a little dark-the framing fabric has some wavy lines in it. I did most of this today as the Fluff does not have school. Now to clean up the mess that is my sewing area and plot my pinks.

A huge THANK YOU to Mirabelle for the cutting directions.

CindyA 10-08-2013 01:47 PM

Wow, Marne, that is gorgeous!! You did a great job picking fabrics. I love the colorway and am impressed on how you made it work.

My sister's name is Marnie. You don't hear it often. :)
