What a palette of colors and designs. You would think that we were using a different pattern the way the colors change the appearance! Rose rips, your stars are bold and beautiful, no doubt of them being there. Jeanie and Jill, some of your points float like I'm doing mine and now it changes the look.
Jeanie I agree that there is a lot of fabric in some of the seams. Maybe Mirabelle will have some tips on quilting them so we don't break a needle.

Thank you for the vote of confidence GGal regarding the quilting. I haven't thought that far ahead, maybe if I keep staring at them on the design wall inspiration will hit me (probably like a sledgehammer, what was I thinking):D:D

Finally, my eye straightened up a bit and I finished putting together Diamonds all around: and all together they look like this: My November will be late, in fact I probably will not see the first ones posted until later...making it that more special to see the 'eye' candy at a later date. If you look real close at Diamonds all around, you can see I changed my mind in the center circle and appliqued the 'patch' on top of the original color I had there by stitching very close to the edge on the matching color to the diamonds. That change was more pleasing to my eye.

JeanieG 10-24-2013 10:49 AM

OH QNS, that is just beautiful! I just love those colors (three of the colors of the new Bonnie Hunter Mystery = LOL).

roserips 10-24-2013 12:40 PM

I have my block 5 done and waiting patiently (not) to post that picture. Working on the Tiger stripe that should be really interesting to see what we all do with that one!

dublb 10-24-2013 01:54 PM

Wow Sue, Oh Wow! Just wonderful! Ya hit another one outta the park!

DogHouseMom 10-24-2013 03:38 PM

Hello all!! I've been away for a while ... getting a tan in Jamaica :)

The blocks are all lovely!!!

I wasn't crazy about the designs of either Diamonds All Around or Loosey Goosey and since I'm not making all of the blocks I had decided to hold off on these two. Depending on how I like the remainder of the blocks that are coming, I may or may not make these two.

But I wanted to check in lest you forget me :) and tell you all the blocks are all coming out GREAT!!

I really like all of the spike blocks shown, very pretty and different views of the same blocks. Finally getting to be able to do some sewing and have finished mine for this month.

Good luck to you next week Nina Sue, sure hope everything goes well for you. Will send up some extra prayers for you.

Thanks, GrannyQ, Love all four of your blocks. There's "WOW' power in your blocks! Very well done.

JeanieG 10-24-2013 08:31 PM

GrannyQ - those blocks are stunning! Gotta get to work on next months blocks.

mirabelle 10-24-2013 11:41 PM

GrannyQ I am loving your colour selection, they look great together:thumbup:

Thumbsup to both of you

gardnergal970 10-25-2013 04:17 AM

Wow. QUSue and GrannyQ...you both nailed those blocks! Beautiful.
GrannyQ...I hope there is some good news for your and your DH. The valleys can seem pretty low when you're going through them...praying for both of you.
QNS...and I pray there are good results for your surgery. Keep yourself healthy!

roserips 10-25-2013 08:50 AM

Granny Q I love how you are using the black and white print as a constant and then the burst of accent color. That is going to be a gorgeous quilt!

Wow!!!! I've been working all week and just got caught up on all the beautiful blocks everyone has made. I'm in awe!! The color choices are just so amazing--things I'd never think of turn out beautifully. My favorite? Couldn't say--each one I look at I say "oh, that's my favorite" and then I see the next ones and change my mind. I just love them all. I want to do some of mine over after seeing all your different colors and placements. What a great learning experience this ride is--thanks to all of you!

roserips 10-26-2013 08:03 AM

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there are two blocks each month, the 3rd and 15th for posting. The first two that you have completed are both from September. I love what you have done.

oksewglad 10-27-2013 08:30 AM

Such delightful work everyone! Such a treat to see all of them.

SYE October

Hi everyone, I am finally caught up with all my October quilting blocks. Just in the nick of time. So here is my second October block and a picture of all 4. I decided to hold off putting the pink around the outside until I am sure what I want to do exactly.

Now one day to rest and start in on Novembers blocks. Although I may be a little behind, because we rescued a little puppy and she comes tomorrow. Never to many sewing machines of puppies. But only 1 cat.

Since I was gone the first two weeks in Oct. Someone has asked if my fabrics were coordinated by the same manufacturer. They were, they are Northcott - Fragrance. The pictures don't do justice to the actual fabric.

QuiltingNinaSue 10-30-2013 11:49 AM

klgreene, I love your four blocks. I don't usually go pink, but love the way you have done your blocks, its beautiful. I will be late with my November blocks due to surgery on my only eye that sees....cataract removal on the 1st. They say 42 hours of blindness before I see again, although I am hoping for a shorter time period of blindness.

Good luck with your surgery. It won't take you long to re-coop. I worked for an Eye Surgeon, and just be prepared to actually see again. Such a nice feeling when it's all done and good.

mirabelle 10-30-2013 01:10 PM

Beautiful blocks klgreene, love the softness of the pink and green together, such a classic combo.
