Roma, that is how I do almost all of my quilts. One thing I try to make sure I do is to use each fabric at least 3 times at various places in the quitl. So it has multiple fabrics but is not disconnected.

Hi all! Nygal-,I love your blocks.
I finished block 1 yesterday- fun to make but joining the triangles is a pain lol. I see a couple if points I'd like to fix and will attempt that later, but for now tada!!! Have fabrics chosen and cut for block 2 and hoping to tackle that next.
Everyone's blocks are wonderful!

Oh Candi I was gonna look at your fabrics before we left the retreat & got busy. Ya did git 'em at Batik's Galore didn't ya? Your block just glows!

Just happy blocks! I love 'em.

candi 10-05-2013 10:00 PM

Thanks all.
Bev, none of the fabs in this block are from Batik's a Galore. But I a did buy a few ( ahem) FQs and fat rights from them and surely some will make their way into these blocks. Have I ever told you how much I love batiks ? Haha.

gardnergal970 10-06-2013 04:23 AM

Candi...I agree with Bev...your block just glows.
Roma...looks like a holiday quilt in the making. Really pretty.

Hello ladies, I have wedges finished for block 1 and 2, better late than never, slow and steady wins the race.

QuiltingNinaSue 10-06-2013 07:08 AM

Neat, D_D. is it going to be a quilt or table runner? Love you colors.

nygal 10-06-2013 07:30 AM

What beautiful blocks I love your color combinations and the use of the pale grey as a secondary background very nice.

Oops- posted these on the wrong thread- here is my block 2 and a pic of 1 and 2 together. My DH is liking this:)

janRN 10-09-2013 01:40 PM

I like your blocks, too. MrJanRN doesn't comment on my sewing other than to say "that's interesting" but he really likes these blocks.

roserips 10-09-2013 02:14 PM

Candi love your cactus rose block and the grey is great as your background I don't see it used often so it makes it more interesting.

Roma Bauder 10-09-2013 04:06 PM

Neat, but this section was for September, SYE, blocks one and two...maybe you could re-post in the right place?? There is an October for three and four and November yet to come for five and six. Watch the headings at each time...they will lead to the right place.

Way cool, love him Roma!!!

janRN 10-10-2013 05:13 PM

Okay, I'm confused. As of next Friday I will officially be a "senior" and I'm blonde so my senior blonde brain is addled. What blocks are we supposed to be doing? Are we doing them in the order QOTS has them? I'm only on #4. Is that correct?

BTW, the blocks are lovely but I don't think we're supposed to have posted them yet. Or am I the one who's mistaken?

deranged_damsel 10-10-2013 05:22 PM

how old are you turning Jan? :D :D :D I keep telling my DH to get older faster... so we can go shopping on senior discount day ;)

Yes! I believe this thread was for block #1 and #2 posted at the beginning and mid month. my #4 is all done and ready to go! for octobers mid month post :D :D :D

I am getting confused as well, its difficult to keep track of the order when things are OUT of order.

Roma Bauder 10-10-2013 05:42 PM

sorry nina

janRN 10-10-2013 05:47 PM

DD, old enough that I do get discounts LOL!!! The only time I mention age is when there's a discount involved. There's a quit shop near me that gives a discount of 1/2 your age if you shop there during your birthday month. Let's just say I'll get 32.5% off!!!

Honchey 10-10-2013 05:48 PM

Yes Jan, # 4 block is the next block to be posted on the 15th which is next Tuesday...We are doing the blocks in the order the QOTS posted them....They shouldn't be shown out of order and even when posting group photos blocks not officially posted should not be included...it's too confusing otherwise...

As much as we enjoy looking at photos of other projects they really need to be posted in the Pictures section of the Forum .. please.. and Spike photos only in the thread they belong in...

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but the photos are not being posted where & when they should be...Honchey

candi 10-10-2013 07:12 PM

Roma, beautiful blocks and I love your skeleton.
