I thought of candles not flowers. Fussy cut the blue print to form the "candle" then the flame and the softer light surrounding it. Using the blue print as the outer border of this table runner after a blue narrow border.

OK--I really like your fussy cutting/kaleidoscope effect.

Welcome aboard happy grandma, we started a chat regarding these blocks and as QuiltingNinaSue said they can be downloaded from Quilting on the Square, free which is a bonus.

oh the blocks are just gorgeous! Hopefully will post mine tomorrow night. We have to go to the big city tomorrow, and I will pick up batteries, and not forget to turn off my camera.

I need help. Do we leave paper on our pieces or take it off when we put are block together and if we leave the paper on what is the best way to get all the paper off. Thanks for your help

JuanitaBean - I print my patterns on newsprint. I purchased 2 reams from Dick Blick website(shipping was the same for 2 reams as 1), and it runs right through my printer just fine. Before I got the reams, I used dollar store Scribble Pads and cut them 8 1/2 x 11. I use a 1.5" stitch length and it is no problem removing the paper. I do not remove the paper until the whole block is pieced together. I know others do it differently, so you will just have to experiment and find the way you like best. Just like everything else, there are many different ways to do the same thing!

I do not know about everyone else but this is the way I am doing these blocks: I am removing the paper after I have sewn each pie section before sewing each individual pie piece to the other. I just rip them off by section starting along the edges if they are being difficult I have small tweezers or a thing called purple thing that I can lift up the edges without poking a hole in the fabric.
