OK...Thanks to Patrice posting the foundations for a 12 1/2" block, I went with that. It's not perfect, but I think it will do. There's a couple corners that are a wee bit short, but it does measure 12 1/2"...think they might sew into the seam ok. I guess like CajunBear says, 'I have a mental block when it comes to paper-piecing' - it just seems hard to me..lol Anyway, it's done. Don't be too critical of me...

Everyone's blocks are so pretty! Amazing the totally different looks possible by varying color placement. Can't decide which I like best.

Blessed are the quilters, for they are the piecemakers.

I think you are right. I love chocolate cupcakes With chocolate frosting of course.
I was not up to doing four small units, so I used graph paper and drafted the 12-1/2 inch block. It was fun as I had not drafted a block in quite awhile. Hope you all are have fun with this block also.

Yeah! Finished 1. For this one I used Patrice's pp pattern but I also am doing one using the pp pattern from Quilters Cache. It's not quite finished but soon, have to work on other things too.

Yay, I finally got it done. My sewing machine is acting weird, it doesn't seem to be tying, so my seams come undone. I shortened my stitch length to 2.0 and it's a little better.

Cas49OR, Beautiful. Your colors are so rich. Amazing how just using all solids make the appearance change.

I have been over thinking this block! Trying to get around the "block" in my brain as to what I am doing wrong. I finished the block but it is sadly an 11 3/4 block! so back to the drawing board. I can usually do paper pieced, but I think I am trying to combine both techniques pp and template. I guess I was too tired, today I start fresh!
Give a smile away today, someone you meet might need one!

Love the colours you have chosen.... when I'm doing PP I use the 1.5 setting on my machine.... it's a little slower.... but doesn't rip away when I take the paper off....

Thanks about the colors! I'm having fun with them, hard to plan which to put where. Thank you for the suggestion. So you think my machine is ok, I just don't have small enough stitch?

Hello Everyone............I see the month of August is about to come to a close, so I hope that everyone has had a good month & still staying with us in making your blocks. I love each & every block that has been shared so far & hope you enjoyed this pattern that I picked for August. I haven't commented on this thread for several days, as my Mother is very ill & is in end stage renal failure. She is very comfortable for now & we are so thankful for that. I am looking forward to the September BOM block pattern & I hope you are too. Have a great day & be thankful for all that you have!!
