I am jumping on the train! This is the first mystery quilt that I will make.
As I was cutting scraps last night, I had such a hard time cutting into any piece that was bigger than 5 by 5. I had to tell myself that most of the scraps were headed for the wastebasket until I spoke up and said that I would take them. Big mistake because now my friend usually has a bag for me every few weeks. Oh, well.
I also realized that I was choosing 'girly' fabrics more than a true scrappy so I will need to work hard at cutting anything that I grab out of the box/bag tonight.

Enjoying the scenery
I have been enjoying the lovely scenery and the wonderful comments but thought maybe I had better get busy so here are my 9 patch blocks and my A & B fabrics. Can hardly wait to see what comes next.

Okay, I cut 108 squares and assembled them all in one afternoon, however, it has taken me 2 days to figure out how to reduce the pixels from my Nikon D200 to something manageble for posting on the board. Thanks to JudyP who gave me a couple of hints.

Okay, what about this green for my Fabric A, instead of the brown? It's kind of hard for me to choose, not knowing where the train is headed. LOL!

I finished my 12-9 patches. I don't believe I have any repeats. I mixed the squares up in a trash bag, pulled them out, stacked them, and started sewing. Some of the finished squares are a bit more appealing to the eye than others. It gave me a chance to use my brand spankin' new (to me) Singer 15-90 that I picked up from Craigslist last Saturday. After a couple good oilings, it sewed like a dream for me today. I am in love with that little black machine.
Waiting patiently for the next clue. Meanwhile, I've got two super hero capes to sew for my Grandson's 4th birthday!
Here's the blocks and my new little toy.

Is there still room on the train? The only quilt I have done is the BOM on Craftsy last year. I have a lot of stash to use up. This will be my first train ride. Last year I started to organize my 30+ years of scraps. Here is just a small portion of it.

I have pulled some fabric from my stash........the large scrap bin.......now to iron the pieces before I can cut them down. I work full time so have to fit it in in the evenings after work. I am now going back to the ironing board to get them are pressed. Then tomorrow after work I will start cutting them down to the correct size. And if all goes well Saturday morning will be sewing them all together. Then will get started on the next step. I did pick my A & B fabrics....going with black and a beige swirl or white on white.

NOPE NOT TO LATE, you need this bad. I know I have alot but have never put it together like this, probably scare me to death. You have enough here for at least 20 quilts. Get on board, we're coming roun the bend and pickin' you up....just grab an arm load, you'll be very safe.
