So much fun and excitement going on!

Birthday plans being made .... I'll bring cake!
Nice quilt that Carrie'sDS made .. doesn't like it, but now seems to be enjoying it!

AFter watching the Olympic Team Pursuit events, I think QNSue has just created a new farm Team Pursuit with the Cub Cadet and Turkeys!

As usual OKSGlad is cooling for the masses .... redneck refrigerators ....... priceless!!!

And *gasp* cleaning our sewing rooms ... whomever thought that should be done?
HOnestly, I've been thinking I might do some of that during the next month in my breaks in the crazy-ness that will ensue. However, I don't think it'll be what I'll "want" to do, if I get a chance ... more likely I'll do some mindless sewing during those times ...... BIG IF!!!!!!!

Keep having fun ladies ... so for the next month, for me it will be the odd cameo appearance!

Is'nt that the way it works? They keep us guessin'.

QuiltE...we want pictures of your exhibit and some of the rest of your goings on. Where will the exhibit be and how long does it last? Does someone have to be there all of the time...and you drew the short straw?

Mirabelle...I saw an amazing platform dive by a 16 year old female from your home land...and she medaled! I'm sorry I can't remember what all of the other countries have been doing but I do remember that Brazil medaled in women's beach volleyball...because the US had to beat them to get into the finals. I usually have the TV on in the background when I sew in the morning but this morning, I was glued to it for the synchronized swimming. Mind boggling and so beautiful!

Size: 99.4 KBSitting on top of the old dog run, trimming the top of the tomato growing there. They can really stretch their necks up to see what is going on...not afraid of much...they can really run fast and fly high. They were hatched the 27th of June. Hoping they will make excellent watch dogs for the small farm here.

QNS, thanks for the updated pics of your guinea hens. Now I recognize what they are. Years ago my sister had guinea hens on her property (she's not a city gal like me). They would sit on branches in the trees and swoop down on you when you walked under. She also had 2 geese that scared the cr** out of me. They'd sneak up behind you and bite you on the butt!! I'd leave there with black and blue marks on my behind; try explaining that to the doc when you go for your Pap smear!! I'll stick to the city thank you very much.

Along the top are squares within a square, the bottom is Bear's paw depicting the sea turtles to the mountains, with two having fishing tackle gear...broken canoes or Iowa Star is along the side, along with brush and trees present around every pond and lake in the state.Name: DSCN1061.JPG

JanR...so you've been inoculated and have complete immunity from country living? Glad you don't mind country talk though and that you're riding along with us.

A looong time ago we frequently visited my aunt & uncle who raised chickens & fruit trees.. My sisters and I enjoyed watching the rooster chase my mother all over the back yard...She was the only one the rooster chased...I remember going to the basement to get the peach preserves to make stove top pies made with white bread, butter & peaches..we used a contraption that you would hold over the stove burner waiting for the breaqd to toast....sisters and I slept 3 to a bed...me in the middle...with the jars of lightning bugs glowing in the dark...Ahhh...remembering the "good Old Days". As usual QNS is at her classic wonderful fabric choices. Fun to see the age progression of the little guineas too.

Just caught up on my reading of this thread.

JanRN ... thank you for my morning SMILE ... actually I think that will keep me smiling all day!

QNSue ... What a perfectly symbolic quilt. You do such a grand job of choosing fabrics and blocks for their significance. The colours of that one really come together and make for quite a show piece! And now, we need a photo update of the birds! Oh how fast they grow.
