Hi, I just found the forum and this thread on Thursday and decided to join both. I've never done a mystery quilt before. I like bold colours so here is what I've come up with:
I also have a red that co-ordinates with the floral but I prefer the two golds instead. I can always use the red for a border. I realize the flowers are quite large but I think the effect will be cool anyway.

Welcome, Works4Me!!

Perhaps the Leader of the group, PaintMeJudy will come on back and advise you.

However, I will say I absolutely love the first group for the punch it gives .... the colours and fabric designs are incredible together. Though I would wonder about moving F from the 2nd group up and switch it in for A or B as they look very close together.

The 2nd grouping is lovely too, just more subdued. I'm like you and love bolds, so that's why the 1st would be my choice!

.... but as mentioned above, let PaintMeJudy give you your advice re the project ... mine is just for the love of the fabrics!

My goodness, lots of activity since I was here yesterday afternoon. Welcome to all the new gals, glad to have you aboard.

Eversise, love your b/w selections with a touch of red - those 3 are one of my favorite combinations.
Sunlit -- maybe just this ONCE I can be coerced into doing so - but it will only be a one time deal!
Weclome to QuiltersDream, LeslieFrost.
Dove911 - love your bright colors, will be beautiful.
Prettiptibbs - very prettty fabrics, great color.
Works4me - yes your fabrics work4me2 - personally, I like the drama of your 1st posting.

As a general note, just pick fabrics you like together. Don't worry about how you will be arranging them until the next set of instructions. I think at that time you will see where we are going with this first section.

Hope I covered everything. Will check back after lunch. Have a great day, everyone.

Thanks. I found myself checking out a second set after I remembered a comment about a large print for A. I prefer the first grouping myself. Will cut today.

I'm hoping that "signing up" for a mystery quilt will force me into some me-time, something that is in short supply these days. Am really looking forward to this. The fabrics everyone has come up with are fabulous.

Yes, there was something about a large print but yours is different. With so much color and so much going on in your print, it will still work nicely.

Oh my!! Another Mystery Quilt! Another project to get excited about!! Sew many projects already in my head and sew little time to get them all finished. But......I did just finish 3 projects (a table runner and two lap quilts!) I started a couple of years ago so that means I surely can start another!! Of course, I haven't finished my Bonnie Hunter Orca Bay Mystery Quilt (about 1/2 done), nor my Boom 6-Spring block swap (waiting on one block--but did lay out the blocks I have, yesterday to start thinking how I will put them together), but that's ok, right?!?!

So, I have decided to join this group, too!! Saw a few familiar quilters from my other swaps too! These "group" projects are so fun!!

ok! i am going to make my official commitment (i realize it is only official to me, but that's what i need). i am in! will make the original size, then decide if i want to make it larger.

i have selected my fabric but cannot post as my computer geek (read son) upgraded my computer and i don't have the necessary piece yet to upload my photos. ah, well. will get that taken care of in the next few days.

will have to put my log cabin on hold until i finish my kaleidescope blocks (just took class on wed and must complete by april for guild show and tell). that will give me the time to do this. i hope. oh-oh, i forgot that row robin row due in mid march. better get off this computer and into the workroom.
