My old ironing board has started to collapse for no reason a little too often. It is fairly heavy and one of these times it is going to hit my foot so I need to get a new one but I don't want to spend a fortune. Any ideas or thoughts on which one to get? If you just got a new one, I'd love to know where you got it and the price if you don't mind sharing that information. Thank you.

I have not bought it yet. ( On my Christmas List ) I want the extra wide one, it has a shelf underneath and a place to set the iron on the end. I think it is just under $50.00 Would be great to iron large pieces on!!

The problem you people have is that you iron. I mean clothes and stuff. I iron when I sew, and only when I have too. I have a large 2ft by 4ft surface for that. Now don't get me wrong, I don't send my husband out without ironed shirts. He wears knit (lol) just kidding, his shirts are ironed. I taught him how to iron them years ago. He likes it. If I sneak a few of my shirts in amongst his shirts he irons them too. And he can buy any size ironing board he wants to. And any iron. Psst, can you tell I hate to iron. Have a good day, and teach your husband to iron by the weekend.

I have the same board since the 70s. I replaced the cover but before I did my DH tighten up loose screws and spray painted it with rustoleum. doesn't wiggle so much anymore that's for sure.

I bought this one a few months ago from Walmart. I think I paid just under $40 for it. LOVE IT! The wideness is great for pressing yardage, rows, and small items and you have more space with the holder on the end. I haven't used the shelf yet but don't keep it set up as my little grandson is just the right height.

I bought the large size at Wal Mart for $30.00, it is sturdy and large enough for quilting!

Paatski, do you remember the name of it at all. One that I was looking at was on the Walmart website and it said it was available in the store. Price was mid $20's I think. Just a plain board without any iron stand. I use it a lot for ironing the neckties I make. I also make potholders I sell wholesale and these fabrics all need ironing before they are sewn. I also iron a few clothes but not many. We are retired and wear most things as they come out of dryer.
