Does anyone have a suggestion where to find a Halloween costume for adults? Most of what I see in the local costume stores offer ones that are more for "adult playtime/roleplay" to my opinion.

I'm not against those, but I want/need something that I can wear to work. We get to dress up for Halloween. :)

PS - please don't turn this thread into a rant; just a "how about this idea" or "try shopping here" sort of thing.

I have dressed up as a witch (for work). Found a black dress at the thrift store and embellished with halloween stuff; old broom or stick with a colored ball glued on top; pointed hat (not too difficult to make) and you are good to go. My friend always goes as a Hershey candy kiss!!

Raggedy Ann and/or Andy are good for work costumes as well (smile). Dorothy from Wizard of Oz also good. Please show pic of what you come up with. The thrift stores are the greatest of places for these types of fun items (smile).

Hi, I've seen several ladies (professional) wear the "good witch" outfit simply by the choice of clothes they wear...in the good witch case...it would be something white. Then emphasize your makeup and make you a good witch hat to wear.

Another suggestion is to be a "princess". Simply wear something flowie and make you a crown with sparkle makeup!

A "doctor/nurse" outfit is also easy to do.

I always like this type of "costume" rather than the store style costumes. It shows more imagination!

Let's see if I can find a few costumes I've made. Nothing really glamorous but fun.

    Thank you for the suggestions.

I thought about doing a "Granny Weatherwax" outfit as a backup in case I can't figure something else out.

One of my attorneys here suggested something from the Captain America comics (female, can't remember her name). He also suggested a group of us doing a Hall of Justice thing up here. (it turned into a Big Bang Theory moment for me)

My BF and I were just discussing this over lunch. I thought of going as a dust bunny - - - wear grey clothing with headband ears and a tail and then attach stretched out "dirty" cotton balls.

A lot depends on what kind of job you have - do you still have to dress professionally?

    Put a large felt "P" on your shirt.......use make-up to give yourself a black eye - - go as a black-eyed pea!

I know, I'm sick but I love Halloween!!!!!

I went as the scariest thing known to man.....a housewife (LOL). Put my hair in rollers, my granny's old housecoat, rolled down knee highs, slippers and winged glasses.

The only 'problem' with wearing some costumes to work is having to work while wearing them.
