I'm pretty sure we have brown carpet beetles or at least they look just like them....mega yikes! Does anyone know what the chances are of them eating my fabric? I am in panic mode. My husband sprayed tonight, but I am thinking I need to check my fabric, place it in the dryer for 30 minutes and put it in sealed containers. If anyone has had them before any tips or recommendations for getting rid of them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kathy

I know bugs in general don't like bay leaves. I'd put some bay leaves in net bags and put them all over in your fabric area. Your could just lay bay leaves around, too. I have them all over my pantry and never have problems with any bugs in there. Good luck!

Lets face it, even the bugs can't take the cold. LOL But, it is true, there are not too many bugs up there to contend with, the worst is No-seeums and the black flies when the wind blows shoreward off of Superior.

I recently went through moths in my pantry. I got rid of them fast with little effort. I called an exterminator. LOL He said bay leaves use to be a minor deterrent to some bugs but now they seem to not mind them very much. Either the bay leaves are milder or the bugs are getting stronger.

I would first positively identify the little critter using Google images. Then you could research their preferred diet and see if fabric is a tasty snack. In the meanwhile, putting all your fabric through a hot cycle in the dryer and then sealed away for a while might be a good idea.

As soon as I saw the headline 'Fresh Bay Leaf ' My SIL grows it along her garden beds and through out her house. NO BUGS or SLUGS invade her area. Even keeps the flies and mosquito's away from picnic areas. And they do not harm the wonderful insects that pollinate

Keep in mind that cotton fabric is a cellulose product, so if they eat cellulose, your fabric is in peril.

jbingwell-Thanks for the great tip I'm going to get some netting and make some bags and put them all over in my fabric area. I had one of they guy's from the pest control company stop by. He thought they looked like weevils, but he took one back for his boss to examine and identify it. I hope they're not carpet beetles! I should know something today. Thanks again for your tip

Onebyone-I'm still going to try the bay leaf remedy too in addition to the spray that my husband did. I hope they'll help to get rid of these little buggers. I don't know what in the heck these little things are, but hoping they're gone very soon.
