Agave nectar
#6
I have used it and have had different reactions from family members. One says it has a "funny" after taste, another says it is not sweet enough. It is much like honey but not as sweet. You can use it anywhere you use honey. It is definitely worth trying.

The consistency is thinner than honey and I think it tastes funny (my son likes it). It WILL raise blood sugar because it is a sugar so please don't think it is sugar free. It just metabolizes a little differently from sucrose. You should be able to find it in most supermarkets these days. Lots of people love the stuff but I don't. It triggers migraines in me.
Oh, and you can get flavored agave nectar down here (vanilla, cinnamon, etc.). If you can't find it, I'll send you the website.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!! DH is diabetic and we use it in recipes to replace sugar and for syrup sandwiches( peanut butter & syrup)and popcorn balls. To me it taste like a mild corn syrup. In tea it takes a little more than you think to sweeten it.
