Fascinating! When you consider the real-life scale of the earth, the planes are much, much farther apart then they look, as well as being at different altitudes, it's not like they are really flying that close together at all. Since my husband and son are both private pilots and my husband was a fight-test engineer for Boeing for over 35 years, I've come to undertand a little (a very little, I'm sure) about how the planes are controlled in the air and I think the video is cool! It's interestiing to notice how the volume of traffic changes over the period of time.

If you look very closely, you can see a line going from right to left, indicating the time of day. What is fascinating to me is how the traffic is heaviest in the USA then, as the day goes by, it becomes heaviest in Europe then back again to the USA.
