low spring runoff, no rain, and evaporization due to heat. Tourist operators are suffering.

Obviously you don't live in Missouri. We've had loads of rain and flooding. We'd gladly send you some water. haha

That looks like Cedar Creek Lake oh, two or three years ago. Very saddened, depressing and heart wrenching.
Good news, a good shower and it will be back up before you know it.
