Default Another great mystery of life...

So at this point in life, 2 of our kids have moved out leaving DH, myself & our youngest child Wyatt. When cleaning the bathroom this weekend I once again wondered how it is that with 3 people living in our house, we have 11 toothbrushes in the holder and this doesn't count the electric brush, which also has a brush head for each of us. Where do these all come from?! We do take in extra kids from time to time but not this many! Perhaps when single socks get lost, they evolve into extra toothbrushes...

We wound up with many toothbrushes also - so solved that by having permanent markers around and making people write their initials on their toothbrushes.

In our house it's pens that seem to mysteriously appear its like they multiply when we go to bed, they've even migrated to my purse DH was looking for a pen on the wknd while we were out told him to get one out of my purse he brought up 6 inone grab lol He asked are you planning on writing a book. So if anyone's missing a pen it maybe in my house someplace, and we've got socks that go AWOL

You know the guy who turns the refridgerator light on and off? Well.....thats where the extra toothbrushes come from...he is a real dickens! If you try to throw them out or repurpose for grout cleaning or such they will only reappear in short order!

The extra toothbrushes belong to the Carpet Gnomes of course!!! It is a known fact that they are particularly fastidious about their oral hygiene. The socks, however, are anyone's guess. My personal theory is a wormhole - and at some point in our future, scientists will discover an alternate time/place constructed and inhabited entirely by socks.

my theory is: the odd socks are being held hostage by the tape and scissors that can never be found in my house.

I have exactly the same problems at my house. I think the missing socks are being held hostage by the flashlights, long handled shovels, extension cords and step ladders that have run away from home. (I usually eventually find all of these missing items down at the potato storage. Maybe the potatoes are using the socks to keep warm!!)
