I'm going thru a tin of buttons I got a few weeks ago. I found an old metal button with the words 'Sant Agostino' on it followed by a star. It's a 2 hole button. It looks old, but I can't find anything on it.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

Guess it would help if I posted a pic. I'll be right back!

I just started a thread in the Links and Resources section.
    http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-163498-1.htm

With dial-up it would take me 'till next week to sort through all the links but have fun! Aren't buttons fun?

Not seriously but I do have my mother's button tin that was my joy to play in as a child. It has always smelled different than any other I have been into. Do older buttons put off an odor or any of particular material that they were made of?
