Hi, ook, this is a complete shot in the dark..But I can find no info anywhere ( don't know a thing about this subject lol)

My son asked for a leather "armor" kit ..As in he would like to make leather warrior armor...Does such a thing exsist? lol.. Or is my only option a starter kit? ( and do you know of a "good" reasonable priced one?)... No luck finding anything like this on the internet...
I really dont want to get him a starter kit containing wallets/keychains etc. Maybe just the tools-instruction booklet/s... He can always add to this later and maybe find patterns for the armor

Thanks so much for any help

Thanks for the response rida
I have that one bookmarked but, I am at a loss as which kit would suit his future purpose lol..Most have projects included..Which I'd rather not have..But, that's where I'll order from if I can't get any guidance...

Not sure how old your son is or if these two sites will be useful but I was intrigued by your question. Many years ago we knew a fellow who used to make suits of armour - all metal and life size. The metal ones were very difficult and expensive to make but he did get a number of sales. There are a lot of medieval and weaponry enthusiasts who I'm sure would point you in the right direction - Let us know how you get on.

Try looking up the society for creative anachronisms (SCA) as they have people knowledgeable in things of this sort. Also lots of resources for making "costumes" from ancient times which would include leather armor.

bjchad, Grrr, I rearranged the wording on your "making "costumes" from ancient times" adding mid evil etc... and aI found a site with all the tools and patterns
I thought I had book marked it and hadnt!.. Now, no matter how I word it I can't find the same source.. Just a lot of mid evil history etc...

Thanks so much for your help guys... I'll keep trying all your links and rewording till I find it again.

I did find a leather craft message board.. Hopefully they'll answer a poorly worded newbie question lol
