Anyone else still working on taxes?

I hate tax time, so I keep putting it off hoping it will go away. Guess what it never does. I know my accountant hates me because I always show up 2 or 3 weeks before they are due to be turned it. No matter how organized I try to stay it always seems like this massive amount of "stuff" to sort through. Plus it takes time away from my quilting and being on the quilting board! :

I hate tax time as well. You're not alone!
Your accountant can also file an extension as well, makes the process easier but you have to pay any taxes due in April.
May I make a few suggestions for next year. After you get this year's stuff to the accountant this is what I would suggest. Get a large manilla envelope, one for every month. Then put everything in the envelope for that month. Try to take the time each month to organize the previous month's envelope. Sometimes just having one for each month seems to make the process easier.
Another suggestion is the following: The Neat Desk
Information about it can be found at: www. neatco .com
They have a payment plan that provides a good way to purchase. This scans the information, so you have it in paper format, electronic format and then into a spreadsheet. This is also accepted by IRS for tax purposes.
You're not alone it putting off the task. I think it's a chore. I hate doing them, as last year I ended up paying. I didn't send my check in until the very last possible moment.

Just finished mine yesterday...no, you aren't alone. I don't get why some investment places get until March 15th to even send us the K1 form! We cannot file without it, so it feels like we are always behind the 8 ball.

Gather my papers in folder all year long - my accountant gives a questionnaire
to fill out in order to have all your information - I give him my package and a couple of days after, he has everything done. Worth the expense. Now that we are seniors and with poor economy there is less coming in - well less goes out! which equals less taxes due. With all the problems around the world, I am just thankful that I can pay the taxes that I do owe.

Mine have been finished for quite some time, but I came home from visiting my siter this past weekend with all of her and her hubby's files!!! And I'm going to a friend's house tomorrow night to do his! I kind of enjoy it  :!: Usually people imagine it's going to be much worse and get themselves all worked up..I like being able to help them out and put them at ease a little :-D Even if they owe, at least they know what's coming and can get on with it. The not knowing is the worst part
