I remember it too. I always hoped they would call my mom. Didn't know you had to apply.

Yes, I remember it. A friend of my mom's was actually chosen as "Queen for a Day". The man worked for the same company as my dad and lost his eyesight in some kind of work accident. I think they had four kids. They lived close enough to us that they came by to visit 3 or 4 times over the years. We saw two or three of his guide dogs during the years. He used them while he went door to door selling something. The wife would drop him off on a street, then wait for him further down. However, I cannot remember their names....... Some of my data cannot be accessed......

I too remember watching it...Mom used to say she didn't want to be queen for a day...she wanted to be queen forever!

My son was a baby and when he got a little fussy I would put him in an infant seat in front of the TV when Queen for a Day was on and he would get very quiet. Something about that man's voice I guess. What was the man's name? Jack?

Oh yes!!!! My brother and I used to mock it as children. I don't think we realized how those poor women were manipulated so badly on national TV.
