Both businesses are hiring in my area and I'm considering applying. Anyone have any info I should know about either?

I know someone who works at Hobby Lobby, she is very happy there.

But I guess it depends who you work with too. Should you have an opportunity to get hired go for it.

You will find out more what's it all about in the process of you interview.

Good Luck

And, of course, I want to work in the fabric depts! Thought maybe I could feed my habit and make enough money to pay for the gas to get there and back!

I worked for Hancock a few years back.
I learned so much when I was there.
I was able over a period of 18 months to collect a nice stash, quilting tools, and contacts that have immersed me into the quilting world. lol
I also have a nice stash of sewing patterns as well.
I was so blessed to learn and share my knowledge with others that were making clothes, quilting and sewing crafts.
I also made many friends and cherish them still.

Go for it and enjoy the time you are there. Soak up the knowledge and share your experiences with others. Very rewarding time and also very beneficial.

Blessings to you,
Sandi

I worked at Hob Lob when they opened in my town...worked there for about 3 years (moonlighting) on evenings and Saturdays.

Yes, they are closed on Sundays, which is very nice...and they close at 8pm, so they are not a late night store either.

Pay was minimum wage...they do give you an anniversary bonus...at least they use to do that.

I had to quit after realizing that I was never going to bring home a paycheck from there as long as I was shopping during work hours...LOL
