Does anyone use this product? I felt my house was becoming stale and stinky so I bought some of this to sprinkle on the carpets before vacumming?
Any thoughts???

I don't have carpeting, but the ad below says "Cat Pee Stink is Gone". Targeted marketing - ya gotta laugh!

In my opinion, using it occasionally is ok...but it does work down into the carpet and does not all vacuum up. It can cause dust when you walk across it. When I used to clean rentals, we could tell who used these all of the time when we steam cleaned the carpets or when the maintenance guys would tear them up...yuck!!!

We use it occasionally until we can afford to take the rest of the rest of the carpet up and replace it with laminate. It is available in various scents. Not sure which we use, but I like it.

I don't use the Carpet Fresh stuff... I use borax...it kills the oders and fleas, spiders, ticks and any other unwanted insect type critter. Safe with dogs and cats and humans.

Don't use the Carpet fresh anymore as it gumms up the vacuum and does not come all the way out of the carpet.

However, I may have to try the Borax treatment.

Those products that you sprinkle and vacuum the main ingredient is salt.

A friend of mine owns a factory that manufactures potpourri and carpet freshener and he goes through more salt than a major city does for winter road maintenance.  The only thing he told me was that after using it for so long it will eventually break the carpet down and it will literally fall apart.

OH I use that stuff fairly frequently...but I may change to Borax now and try that. I do spray it with Fabreeze too...I live with 4 cats and can't stand the smell!

Just a note of caution for pet owners who use Febreeze it can cause skin irritations and your cat or dog can loose clumps/patches of hair.
