Art on a Big Scale - Silos finished

It's done! The images were painted from photos of local people and painted by a world renowned "Muralist".

Image from Facebook site "Brim Silo Art".

A great tourist attraction for a town (population 100) in rural Victoria, Australia.

I think it's so amazing. and what a great idea for a canvas, covering ugly silos making them into art!
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

Beautiful and pensive........is it really canvas covered or painted right on the walls of those great silos....keepers of our food! I live in a rural area...see lots of silos and barns. A lot of barns are now wearing quilt blocks...would like to see decorated silos too.

To quote Jenny from MSQ "Now, how cool is that?" A wonderful tribute to the men of the town and the muralist who did the work.

GeriB, It was painted on the silo. It took 4 weeks to complete.

I've never seen anything like this. There are quite a few of these silos in my area. Maybe this will catch on like the barn quilts. Thanks for sharing.

What a cool way to make something utilitarian into something beautiful. We need more art in this world.

    It's dead yarn now.
