To those thinking about the tatoo liner: don't wait - go for it. Be aware you will need touchups every 4-5 years though. Touchups are usually done at a big discount by original person only.
I got it done in AZ in 2004 and needed redone in 2008 in Nashville. If I could have gone back to AZ to the original woman it would have been $125. I finally found someone certified to do it that would give me a discount. IT WAS A BAD IDEA!!!
AZ I went to a nice office type setting. Nashville I went to a tatoo shop. AZ really did NOT hurt. Some lidocane on the brows and lids and all I really felt was a pinch when she was on inner or outer corners. Nashville woman said lidocane would just make it too slippery for her to work well and proceeded to yank on my eyelids by pulling my lashes. She bruised my lids pretty bad. And didn't really do too well on my brows and had to do a 2nd touchup.
So be very careful who you let do this! Make sure you are very comfortable with the person. I had it done in AZ as we were RVing and I met a woman who had been done by the same person and looked great.
Also if you think you want permanent lips be aware that you need to be able to hide for most of a week. Lips swell BIG! Day 4 I had Angelina Jolie lips. Then they start peeling and it's really ugly. Also go for the darker color option or you will likely wish you did.
Lips you get a total novocain block (mine was at the Dentist around the corner)and feel nothing but they look the worst for almost a week. Eyes were a bit swollen for a day or two only. It does something interesting to the skin though. Afterward you can wear lipstick and it stays on all day. If I had taken the darker color I probably would never want to wear lipstick but I didn't.
