Awesome Senior Moment......

I like her reply and her response to the young woman if she touched her again! Many of our ancestors heroically fought so the young woman could have her say and ideas, but we don't have to listen to them. My Dad was a POW in Germany the last 9 mos of WWII and his cousin the last 5 mos in the same camp. I get upset when people call others Nazi's because they never will be as bad as the original group in Germany was to their own people and the POWs/people in the invaded countries. Just too quick to label someone even tho it is free speech.

The elderly woman was behind me getting off the escalator and a young (20-ish) female protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined. The young protester put her hand on the old woman's shoulder as a gesture of friendship and in a very soft voice the young lady said, "Lady, don't you care about the children of Iraq ?"The old woman looked up at her and said, "Honey, my father died in France during World War II, I lost my husband in Korea , and a son in Vietnam . All three died so you would have the right to stand here and badmouth our country. If you touch me again, I'll stick this umbrella up your ass and open it."

Thank you Ditter.........
Too many people fail to think of this in this day and age where they enjoy the benefits of the sacrifices of our elders.
