We just had a real bad storm. Thunder, lightning, hail, rain, and wind. Knocked over a big tree in my from yard. Dont get me wrong. We could sure use the rain. It was real scary though. Probably was a microburst. Knocked over alot of trees and messed up alot of roofs in town. Forgot to add the damage the hail did to the cotton fields. More high prices. Oh no.

Everyone in Arizona thats getting that bad weather...get out all of your fans and point them towards texas and turn them on high. Maybe the rain you guys blow to them with the fans will put out some of those fires. :)

I read your post with mixed feelings, sadness for your scare and losses, gratefulness for the rain that could be used. But the expression "it never rains but it pours" came to mind.
We recently broke our mild drought, too, with a heavy rain from the remnants of Hurricane Lee and got 6" overnight. It was a bit much for the ground to take a week or so ago, and now we have huge mushrooms growing everywhere.

Im pretty sure the river is gonna start running now too. Its been dry all summer. As long as it doesnt overflow . we live real close by it. I think the storm is headed East. Will have to watch Fox news tonight and see what they say about the weather.

We had a cool front come thru which brought some nice showers. I just pray that our winter isn't as rough as our summer was. The Missouri River has just dropped enough on the Iowa/Missouri line for them to do damage assessments and try to get repairs made before winter sets in.
