When you live in CO, you WISH it were rarely. Not so. Before I moved to WV, I lived about 5 blocks from downtown and was plagued with bears every night. We had to buy bear-proof trash cans, couldn't leave any bird feeders out at night and had to put our barbecuers in also. If you called Wildlife for a problem, that is if you could get them to answer the phone, they would tell you that if the problem stemmed from anything that you had out that lured them in, you would be heavily fined. The containers cost $250 and up. They would break down your fences and tear up your landscaping. One mother bear decided that city living was so convenient, she attempted to make her winter den under a family's porch. This family lived 1 1/2 blocks from the elementary school.

Looks like Too many fermented apples to me, but???
My sis lived in a canyon above Durango for many years & the bears & the deer & elk used to come in to clean up around her apple tree. She said it was pretty funny watching after they got their fill...

Happy Quilting,
Susan
