Beautiful Blackberries
#23
The blackberries are all done here in South Arkansas. My thorny ones were big, but not that big. I picked gallons of them. The thornless ones are just now done. They aren't so big and aren't as prolific. The cardinals got the last of them.

When I was growing up my grandma always called those big berries Boysenberries. You seen them a lot interspersed with regular blackberries. They sure were yummy and it didn't take long to fill your bucket. That was the best part.LOL

We're not having a large crop of blackberries this year because it's been so dry but the ones we have a huge and sweet. I rarely have enough at one time for a cobbler or jam, but I'll post a recipe I tried that made a wonderful little cake with just a cup of blackberries. DH and I polished it off pretty darn fast!!
