I decided that some people sounded like they needed a pick-me-up since they were so cold. I'm pretty sure I will have to figure out how to "winter" this thing. I've never had one before.

Don't send it my way. It is supposed to be real windy and rainy here tomorrow and you bet all the petals would be all over the place.

So beautiful! What do you call it? My Mom had it when I was a kid.

    Thanks for sharing.

It is a bougainvillea. I haven't had one before so I'm learning as I go. Here's a couple pictures I took at on Thanksgiving day. The yellow flower, which I have no Earthly idea exactly what it is, was a bonus blossum. I spotted it at the top of the plant which ended up about 7 feet tall this year. My husband swears it was supposed to be a small bush. Figures. The other one was just too cute to pass up. He was sunning himself on the daisies.

I'm in Texas. We are in zone 8 (I think). Anyway, I'm not sure how cold tolerant a hanging plant is vs. being insulated by the ground. I appreciate the info. Do you prune them?
