Default Best. Proposal. Ever.

I'm feeling quite envious; my proposal occurred in the kitchen as I was doing dishes - about as unromantic as you can get!

I would not change one thing about the way my husband decided it was the right time -We went to visit his Dad in Newport,Tenn and on the morning we were to head home he asked his Dad to ride to town with us.-he said Yep let me grab my gun. We ended up at the Justice of Peace office and Tom said ''It's time to make it legal'' my father-in-law says it was high time I done right by his son so with his shot gun in hand I made an honorable man out of my husband..We lived together for 11 yrs with out papers and 15 yrs with papers. We had a good life together for 26 yrs before he passed away in '06 Ours was the young JP's first shotgun wedding. And the only one in the towns history that it was the PaPa of the groom holding the gun on the bride.

The best proposals are those out of love - anyone that has one of those is truly blessed. I know - I was!

I'm still laughing. My proposal didn't happen next to a sink of dirty dishes, but in bed. Not telling the kids about that!

OMG, what a story! Loved reading it; couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. Best wishes to the engaged couple.

Mine happened while driving down the road. I was living with him for 2 mos and my mom was having such fits about how I wasn't raised to act that way. So DH said while driving then we'll fix her wagon we'll get married. And we gave her one month to put together a wedding with 4 bridesmaids and all the trimmings. We had 300 guests and we have been married 38 yrs.

I told my DD they could not get engaged on Christmas that year. they had only been dating for 3 months. but they had known each other since 7th grade. Sil took her down to Oakland MIlls a small fishing community where he proceded to get down on one knee in the snow and ice and asked her to marry him on New Year's Eve LOL Oakland is a popular area and they had spent alot of time there. so it was special to them.
