Beautiful! My Grandmother did this type of crocheting; I could never get the handle on the thread used. Thank you for sharing.

Ooh! Filet crochet. Antique Pattern Library has a bunch of the old booklets with filet crochet patterns. I use them for cross-stitch because I haven`t learned to crochet yet. Your bonsai is beautiful!
