Say you have 10 items for sale. Some items get sold, whether people PM or post to the thread. If you delete pics, edit to say sold, whatever on the original post...it won't bump the thread, correct? Then the new information wouldn't be available, so to speak. Or....if you add additional things to the topic, instead of creating a fresh topic (thus, clogging the classified section more) it wouldn't bump the thread, because it's an edit to the original post.
I agree, people shouldn't needlessly bump, or bump multiple times a day, week, whatever...but never seems to be absolute.

Only new topics get listed in the outgoing message digests. So by "reusing" an existing topic, you greatly limit the exposure of your new offer.
And for all other "edits" such as marking an item as sold, brining a topic back to the top doesn't seem beneficial.

I was asked not to bump too. I wasn't "bumping" but would put updated and added more etc. So now I have 3 sales going on. LOL. But.....people are still in there doing it. They should read this too. Thanks for the info. SO I ask people to PM me and they do so mine don't move unless someone posts they are sending a pm. I am falling in line too.
