I have a nice heavy pair I picked up at the thrift shop for cheap but they are a bit dull. I am wondering if I can get them sharpened like I do my shears.

i see ads on a regular basis for them to be sharpened but the price is much higher than regular sheers.

Recently someone on this site suggested that you could fold up some aluminum foil and cut it up with your scissors to sharpen them. Try that and see if it works.

yes they can. I drop mine off at Hancock's and a guy picks them up. Takes about a week.

I had mine sharpened, there is still a bad spot, won't cut to the tip. I bought a new pair, haven't used them much.

make sure the person you take your pinking shears too knows how to sharpen them- if done incorrectly they will be ruined- when done right they will last for years-
a good pair of pinking shears are a treasure! and expensive to replace.

Regular scissors can supposedly be sharpened by cutting sandpaper. I don't know if that would work for pinking sheers too.
