    Candy bag pouch

Here's something I've seen tutorials for all over the internet, a candy bag zippered pouch. It's a birthday present for a relative who loves the yellow M&M guy. The interior fabric is the closest thing I could find to M&M colors. This is my first attempt at one.Name: CandyBag1.jpg

Really nice. A friend of mine is using her dog food bags to do the same thing but as grocery totes.

Terrific gift. I always thought those bags were sturdy. Great idea.

It looks really cute. Was it difficult to sew through the bag? Did you need to use a Teflon foot?

I made one for a friend and DID find some m&m fabric on etsy which I seldom buy from. Seems I got a lot of it too. Then my sister gave me a LARGE bag made out of a reese cup and she put the reese cups inside. Said I could 'freeze' them and have one when I felt good (or maybe when I need to feel good). Was funny. IF I could find a bag of sugarless tootsie rolls I'd have made her one out of that. They're quick projects.

I use my large birdseed bags for all sorts of projects. I cover chairs which sit outside, I cover cushions for the car, or anything else which will "stand still" long enough for me to make a cover for it.

I used my regular sewing foot. I use a Singer 500 from the early 1960s. The bag was easy to sew through, except for a short section where you sew over both layers of the bag and the lining and the zipper folded upon itself. Watch one of the videos to understand that better. I hand-turned the wheel over the thick section.

that is adorable. a few years back, about 15 or so. I saw them in a store for about $15 then. A real cute bag, especially for m&m's.
