Capelet done, sent, and appreciated by my sister!
I finished the Capelet for my sister. She is a sculptor and works with clay a lot. I intended for her to wear it while working in her studio, but she thinks it is too elegant for that! She will wear it to church and dress-up events! She took two selfies of her wearing it. They don't show the intricacies of the different patterns, but she seems genuinely happy with it! Here are her pics:

I modified a pattern to fit my own designs, so it is a unique "one-off". I called it simply, "Annette's Capelet".Originally Posted by eparys

The pattern I borrowed ideas from (mainly how to shape the shoulders) was Yarnspirations "Lacy Knit Capelet" designed by Jodi Snyder. My two main patterns came from "The Japanese Knitting Bible". I really like one that looks like a cathedral window. That's a vertical cable panel on each side on the front. The bottom hem looks like little candle-sticks with a flame on top, also from the Japanese book. Rather than make the back plain Stockinette, I spaced in a bunch of florets to break the monotony. The yoke and collar are done in a moss-stitch. The front two edges are a one-inch Garter stitch.
